In order the refit my new SBLs i have some neoprene sheets 4mm thick. However, someone told me that this is more porous than the original. Anyone knows something more specific about?
Do you have a piece of the old gasket you could check against,
That looks very similar to what I used, But had a white back not yellow, I’ve still got a square of it, they came with my black SBLs, I’ll take picture later when back home, if that will help?
Yes please! Old gaskets are still here and they are actually Smoother than this

I think as long as you get the middle cut out correctly it be fine,
Before sealing you place the box on top, And look from the side, my gap was about 2mm approximately,
Also I can’t see why you could not make the foam wider and put an extra thick layer of sealant, but this is only an idea,
I have ordered 5mm neoprene sheets now

I suggested a thousand times to severe relationships with that someone…
I have redone gaskets myself for SBLs at least twice and sent ‘my’ gaskets to a friend/forum member and none of us has ever complained. Your neoprene will be perfect and the new 5mm one even more perfect. My availability to help you with the job is still available but now it’s subordinated to the condition you stop listening to that someone.. :-))
