SBL tweeter replacement

Hi everyone

I know this subject has been well covered but every time I read through the topics Im not really any further ahead?
Is it possible to replace sibbles tweeters with a freely available scanspeak item?

Clive, the like for like replacement is the Scanspeak D2008/851100 Tweeter. However, these are getting very hard to source now they have been replaced by a new version (852100).

To fit the 852100 will require some minor modification to the top box due to the terminals being re-positioned to the sides. Also it fixes using four bolts as opposed to three.

Ideally yes, but probably not possible nowadays.

Thanks Richard…what’s your personal opinion of the newer tweeter? Do you think it significantly different to the original?

I don’t know Clive as I’ve not heard any SBLs with the new tweeters fitted.
