Focal Hadenys with NJC Dac and headphone amp. I have a particular requirement for headphones, which is that they should be mild and undemanding in every respect (including comfort). I generally use them while working and anything too lively or heavy would be distracting. This set up (into a Mac Mini) is pretty much perfect for what I need.

Has anyone compared a Hedd with a Hifiman? I have the HE1000 Stealth, I’m very happy with it with my SPL Phonitor, it’s just out of curiosity…

When I read the reviews, they always made comparisons with stuff in the same price bracket.

You need to read a few reviews and see if it is for you. I bought the Heddphone 2GT as an upgrade/ “sidegrade” to my Sennheiser HD800S, which lacks Bass, but has a wider soundstage.

Getting the headband adjusted correctly has a big influence on the sound.

I use it with a Phonitor SE.

My Beyerdynamic T1 Ver 2 headphones finally restored to something like new. I bought them on Ebay for a good price, but they needed new pads and a new headband.

These cans have a very particular tuning, best described as entertaining.

The rest of my Headphone collection. Each has its own sound signature.

The Classic Sennheiser HD800s Good all rounders, great soundstage, good for acoustic Jazz

My new Heddphone 2GT. Maybe I like the sound on these a little better than the HD800S. Everything in a recording is revealed with these.

Shure SRH 1540. I needed some headphones that did not leak sound. With these I can listen to the Free Jazz, in the same room as my wife without her complaining. I use these mostly with my portable music player.

Bought my first pair of headphones and I’m very impressed. Thought Focal Bathys might be the ones for me but tried them alongside others and these and for me the B&Ws sounded much clearer, both wireless and wired. Perhaps I have a type!

Focal head phones look the business but I never was impressed by the sound…

How well do these fare with your AK?

I have a pair of P8 on order, with a new model out I managed to get these at a good price

A few weeks ago I bought a pair of B&W Ear Buds to accompany my new iPhone. Very pleased

Currently suffering from sensory overload , and when I go on holiday in June I think noise cancelling will be very handy .

Not headphones but earphones. BGVP Solomon.

They work well as they are easy to drive. On a site that compares a huge range of headphones, they were one of the few recommended closed backs at a reasonable price. I like them.

I use them exclusively with the A&K, as my other cans are all high impedance headphones.

Are the Earbuds really good Ian?
I have just given my AirPods to my son as I hardly ever used them. The reason for not using them was that I never felt they were performing as well as I would expect and they were quite leaky for noise pollution in a quiet space.
Mrs Q has offered to get the B&W’s for me for my birthday, but I’m not sure how much better they will be…:man_shrugging:t2:

I like them, as yet I haven’t used them in any noisy environment - for obvious reasons . In a quiet environment they seem to work well - I have issues with loud noises and voices

The Sony xm’s with comply tips work well as earbuds.

They look nice!

I have been offered a pair of Px8 S2 at a very good price

Are they fairly idiotproof to set up, I can’t quite work out how one would connect up (wirelessly)

I use Naim app, NDX2

Thanks for any replies

Depends - I love my Elears, but was quite unimpressed with the Elegias. I had my doubts about the Bathys initially, but either way due to break-in or my adjustment to them, I’ve grown to like them a lot, even if their noise cancellation trails far behind much of the competition.

I think they’re great. Pretty easy to set up using the B&W app which you can link to your streaming provider (eg Tidal) and use to play music as well as control the headphones.

You can also use wired connections depending on which phone you have. Let us know how you get on.

Thank you for your reply !

Can the USB C socket on my PC be used to charge the headphones?

My streamer is wired to a NAS, don’t use Tidal or Qobuz

Thanks
