Show us your hi-fi furniture (no dedicated hi-fi racks please)

@ratrat on Wednesday’s that wall is clear and it’s a two week cycle until the recycling bin team turn up again.

I have to say I salute you all in your setups, the absence of racks is hugely refreshing and the individuality of what’s been achieved is inspiring.

Most of all the theme I’m taking is that the music is fun.

@Adam1 Well said.
I had a similar thought too.

Only yesterday, was browsing this forum and celebrating the fact this particular thread - now over 100 posts - has drawn out so many positive contributions from members.

It becomes apparent that a significant segment of this fine forum just quietly get on with setting up music systems in domestic bliss. Sometimes with design flair or creative thinking. But always with a love of music, which is apparent in the images.

We all love listening to music. Yes, agreed, music is fun too.
Long may that continue

Just between you and me I found the Chord cable between my CD player and Nait 50 is wrong configuration and it’s Din to RCA and not RCA to din.

I nearly swapped it out as just bought correct directional cables so had a spare and then realised I’ve been so happy with said Denon DCD1700ne to Nait 50.

So don’t tell anyone, I’ve left it in, all the electrons are swimming up stream but I’m thinking it works for Salmon so maybe it’s why it sounds so good.

Thanks, much appreciated.

They are already painted. 6 shades of lilac/purple and not one shade is next to the same. The opposite wall has them too. It works wonders to kill the echo in this big boxy room.

The Spendor A2 speakers work great with the Atom as they are pretty unfussy; they deliver a surprisingly great detailed music stage. They are small considering how well they perform, which is great for room design. I moved my hi-fi to a larger room as we extended our house and the bass was clearly lacking. I thought long on hard on upgrading the entire system (Kudos speakers, new streamer…) but settled on just adding the Rel Classic Sub. It worked a treat and cost a third of upgrade path. I am very happy with the sound and design. I wouldn’t go for big bulky speakers…

Would love to try that, but I know I’d chicken out.

But I guess you can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.

This piece of furniture I designed and assembled for my HIFI equipment 45 yrs ago before I entered the naim and Linn LP12 world in 1984 (without my Laky Amy)

This has served me well. Very rigid bit of furniture and not too heavy.

The cabinet has soundcare superspikes attached (to its legs), as do the mdf platforms that the components sit on.

Tried various other more expensive feet but nothing sounds more natural and balanced. Same goes for my speakers.

By Summer I’ll be in a new house - a npx300 plus a suitable hifi rack will be purchased and installed :slightly_smiling_face:

Ercol Canvas sideboards in Ash. One for an Atom and its friends. The other covering AV duties.
