I don’t know much about cats but I know the last 2 dogs we rescued were 4 years olds and they were extremely loyal and devoted to our family.
Rescues are always looking for homes for older cats and I am sure you and a rescue cat would be very happy together.
I have to have both knees replaced at some point, also feel a serious need to downsize my property (my doctor says I need to downsize my waistline also) .
I adopted my two a bit after downsizing and these were probably the best decisions I have made since COVID arrived. I had put off adopting before because of health concerns but a friend kept sending me details of cats up for adoption and whilst I had intended to adopt young adult cats, the rescue suggested my two as they needed an experienced cat person and a quiet household. It has worked out wonderfully.
I took advantage of the sunshine yesterday to spread some manure that originated from some domestic rabbits that my neighbours had. It had taken some time to rot down, but the hens did a grand job of spreading it out.
Two raised beds done, three more to go.
I was curled up on the sofa, chatting on the phone with my daughter, when someone decided I might make a good chin rest.
Willy.
Two unhappy Petite Panthers. I had some friends round for coffee this morning and the boys did their normal rush out of the catflap. These pics were taken a couple of hours later when they still did not want to come back indoors. Sakli hid in his safe space in the garden and Latika gave me his “I am not at all happy with my staff” look. I sensibly retreated and by dinner time they had decided to forgive me.
Familiar. Every Monday our Grandson comes to stay. I don’t see one of the cats until he’s left (she knows the timings and when it’s a Monday), the other comes at sits with me if I’m wfh or he admits defeat and sulks about for a bit before finding a remote comfy spot…They don’t give us the death stare any more but they do let us know they’re not happy.
Mrs Houdini always fled from anybody other than myself. This included my weekly miracle (my cleaning lady) , she saw her for three seconds exactly and we always knew where she was from the bump under the bed covers .
This went on for ten years, then my weekly miracle (cleaning lady) had to pick her up from the cattery when I got CV19 in Malta
I got back to a picture of Mrs Houdini curled in my weekly miracle’s lap
Oh I duno. He hasn’t widdled on it.
Surely a budding cover fielder ![]()
Been struggling to post this here, but we lost Skye suddenly on Monday evening. She was only 7.5yrs old. Taken from us far too soon. ![]()
So sorry to hear.
Gosh……way too young, heart breaking🙏
So Sorry to hear this, you must be feeling very raw at the moment (Saw the photo first and was thinking 'Wow" she’s beautiful) then saw your comment ![]()
Really sorry to hear this, I know how painful it is.
Yes, it’s very raw. I got upset whilst in the office today. It was 10mins before an introduction to my new CEO, had to pull myself together pretty quickly.
Sorry to hear this.
Willy.
