I use magic eraser to clean my stylus. Cheap. Works great.
As per post 3 above and after 3 months locked down, my very first LP12 is up, running and sounds great…
Modest Lp12 sounding amazing playing through Stageline on Peter Swain’s reference system yesterday.
Sounds okay with my Supernait2 too.
Many thanks to Naim Forum for introducing and recommending Peter. Regards john
Aro, geddon, kore, adikt and Lejonklou Gaio into Lejonklou Boazu. Just installed Karousel. Wow, what an improvement!
if I remember correctly you had a nait 2, how is the boazu going compared to nait2 now?
Dear D
It is inn the basement
The LK compared to Nait 2 is different. The Nait 2 is more impressive in the beginning, more wow. But after half an hour much more tiring. The Nait 2 is more drama all the time. The LK still has prat and dynamics but it is following the music more. When the drama is there it is there, but on more quiet passages it is much calmer than N2. It is the only amp I have owned that I can play every record I own without fatigue. The best is that every element in the music is there in a extremely musical way and coherent way. The Nait 2 is fun, the LK is very emotional and involving.
Fred
How much the lk cost now?
About 2800 euro.

Mine is from 1986. It originally was Black Ash, but now is Oak.
The only original part left is the outer platter.
same here, hinges and outer platter only items from the 1980’s
nice looking deck in Oak
Reminds me of Triggers broom in “Only fools and horses”
It was the same broom for over 30 years and he had only swapped 2 new handles and 3 new heads.
Thank you
. . . . ok, I inherited this from a member of my family who purchased it in 1973. I came here from a thread where I asked about the Sondek’s credentials. Lots of great comments & advice later, I had it serviced - new suspension springs, drive belt, and some TLC. Its an early one, with a lovely red rocker switch all factory original. No upgrades, I like it as it is.! . . . . needs a little more cleaning and I’m going to polish the dustcover also.
Wonderful. There can’t be many things still available today that retain of the essence of the original from 47 years ago. Weetabix maybe.
Hi Kevster, is that a glass or acrylic sheet beneath your deck ? looks so see through, its pure porn. How much difference does it make, would you say? The replacement springs in the Sondek are pretty good I think. I am new to this, so need enlightening. My listening room has a suspended wooden floor and I can unfortunately hear (just about) someone walking around. So was wondering about a wall mounted stand, what are your thoughts please.
Hi @artist - it’s 7.5mm tempered glass. It does make the TT less susceptible to footfall, and tightens the sound up a bit.
I would prefer a wall shelf – like you I have a suspended wood floor – but that’s not possible with my current living arrangements, so this will have to do for now. If you can fit a wall shelf for your LP12, I would definitely go for that option.
Thanks
I’m glad you kept the turntable as it was and just had it serviced .
I followed your original thread on this and was hoping you would just have it serviced and some t.l.c
Looks lovely
