So convincing! you could be a YouTuber for sure

I think that is the first LP12 on this forum with the new dedicated paint :art:?

Well-done, very nice, very nice indeed.

All good record players need a hollow peakyness in the midrange!

And a ‘quiet room’, it seems.

Dear forum members and particularly those LP12 users or just admirers…

Do continue to post on this thread. Go on, Show us your Sondek. Let’s keep it going.

Hope everyone is enjoying their records this weekend. On an LP12 or otherwise.

Here’s mine, first thing today, caught in the early morning sunshine…

Love how the light emphasises the flutes.

In our new house, the sun streams through the front windows in to this room. The sun, by itself is a joy, to sit with a coffee and enjoy. Okay, maybe with a record playing too.

Some of the records we’ve played so far today…

  • Damien Rice, O
  • Elbow, The Take Off And Landing Of Everything
  • Darkside, Psychic
  • Bryan Ferry, Avonmore
  • Robert Palmer, Clues

Just playing Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here.
Albeit, the remastered version on 180g released more recently.

Here we go then. Just back from the dealer and settling in very nicely indeed.

Changed to a fluted plinth amongst other small upgrades

Ooooo
That’s a beauty

Just look at those flutes.

Nice plinth indeed. Since your profile say Magik build standard plus Karousel and Lingo 4, I detect some very significant upgrades! Enjoy.

Indeed! Lingo 4 > ARadikal2, Jelco > Ekos SE/1, Magik Sub > Keel, Adikt > pre-loved Kandid and of course standard plinth to flutes!

Sounds incredible. Very pleased. Not quite end game, but very close on the vinyl source front.

Looks like a Keel. So yes, very small upgrades.

Those look like normal Flutes to me… Why all the fuss…? I have always had those…

Here is the business end of my system. Most of it prior mid 90s. Lp12 from 89. Aro fro 91. Lingo from about 94, I think, ( Cirkus from 95), Cheap 3rd party " frankenstein" subchassis and armboard 2020. Fitted myself and arguably the biggest upgrade after the Aro. Much more resolution. Karousel in 2021, Jury still slightly out on it. More bass, less transparency/ less bright. On 2nd Hana SL. Sounds better than ever. Prior to 2020 I was about 3/4 CD listening. Since, at least 2/3 Vinyl, and been out buying lots of Vinyl, mainly 2nd hand classical. Although I mainly listen to Rock and Bluesy stuff.

You’re the first person I’ve come across that didn’t immediately like the Karousel :astonished:
What you’ve described doesn’t sound like the changes that I experienced.

Black fluted looks really nice.

And just to add confusion, the old and the new inner platter sound different to each other.

My wife says I’m not good at change.

You shouldn’t be using the old inner platter at all :astonished:
You could or even have caused damage.

Is that an “Ash Design” rack there ?

It might be, I’ve had it so long I can’t even remember buying it.

Think it is this, so yes, probably.
