Show us your turntable

Pretty sure it’s had a mention somewhere on this forum, I know I looked up a Philips TT a few months ago , and it was well regarded .

Yes, her love and dedication to music and vinyl replay combined with decades of experience in setting up, then restoring and finally building her own high end turntables is quite something.
Experiencing her meticulously setting up a turntable, especially the cartridge, enabling the stylus to get as much information out of the grooves as possible leads to astonishing results.
To be heard!

My favourite comment thus far in 2021.

Thank you

Always a Joker in the pack

Good deck, but I preferred the NA Dais in a direct comparison.

The SME is great on violins though.

Hi @Dozey

I had a NA TT over 10 years ago, I cannot remember the model. The motor was in it’s own pod and it poked through a hole in the plinth, in the back left corner.
I cannot remember how it sounded. I traded it in for a Jon Palmer 3 TT.

All my NA tables have had a separate motor unit only connected to the platter by the belt. No plinth as such.

The new pickup sounds pretty good IMO…

My Thorens TD150, with SME 3009 S2 and Benz Micro Glider, feeding a Stageline E/non-Naim PSU to XS2 amp. Mid-century chic with irresistible old industrial-look logo! Sounds pretty good, too!

So this happened yesterday…. My grandsons birthday party and one of his ‘guests’ got past my LP12s defence system :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: The cartridge is only 6months old :rage:
The tone arm was ‘handled’ as well :rage: so off to my dealer to see what the damage is :weary:
Not happy.

Do you have accidental damage cover on your insurance ?

Looks nasty - best wishes and commiserations

Hi @Ian2001 I could go through my insurance but I think I will probably bit the bullet on this one. Just back from my dealer and a new cartridge is on the way. At least with Dynavectors exchange policy it takes the sting out of it!

Yes, you never know how an insurer will react

That’s a lovely TT you have there

A visitor took the whole cantilever off my Benz cartridge some years back.

The insurer, Halifax, coughed up for new cartridge, no quibbles.
