Thanks, yes I’m very pleased with the tonearm. I ran it initially on my Xerxes X for 18 month and for me it was a big improvement over the tabrizi that I had before for many years. The cartridge is a Hana ML.

A very dear hi-fi friend has lent me this " masterpiece " - I’m a bit speechless right now…

Nice weekend to all of you

Is that a ‘s’ or a ‘t’?

I have an ‘s’ I used for a while. It’s a remarkable cartridge. Very musical and detailed.

It is a „s“.

And I agree: very musical and detailed.
Hard times for my beloved vdH Colibri…

Plays on the StSt Motus DQII 9‘‘ and Sorane SA-1.2 :star_struck:

I love the Dynavector sound, especially for all the acoustic jazz and classical I listen to. Now I’m on a better Lyra, but it’s just more of what I like about DV.

Does anyone here have a Clearaudio Innovation turntable? I have a favor to ask. I am considering a future upgrade from my Ovation to a Innovation Wood, but am unsure if I can site it on a shelf in my setup.

If anyone has an Innovation I’d like to know what the distance is between the feet under the front of the plinth and the foot under the rear of it. IOW: I want to determine the minimum shelf depth I need to site an Innovation.

I know from the manual how much space it needs overall, but that includes the plinth and armboard. I just need to know how much space the feet need, which is somewhat less.

@apurdy48 :

“ Very similar experience and setup Josquin. I run a Clearaudio Innovation Compact/Universal/Charisma. In a long hiatus with vinyl on vinyl off, I sold my Superline but now run a LuxmanEQ500 valve phono stage. I much preferred the sound here to the NDX2 (which was lovely but lacked something). I was lucy to acquire an XPSDR a few months ago and it has literally transformed the NDX2 - gravitas and cohesiveness more than anything. I like the match of NDX2/XPSDR so much that I have sold my Chord Hugo TT2 DAC and run the streamed music using the internal Naim directly into the amp. The XPSDR would be an essential for me now.”

The Compact that @apurdy48 has will have the same footprint as a Wood.

Anyway, I wonder how @biddler66 makes that fit on top of a Fraim. I don’t think my smaller Ovation will even fit on the glass shelf of a Fraim.

In any case, without knowing the footprint I can’t determine how it would fit in my setup.

Forgive me, I’ve not seen that pic before. Do the speakers have that much toe in? Or am I
mis-seeing (I don’t know the speakers but I assume the sides are chromed and the cones are under the black fabric)?

Ah…I think I’m mis-seeing! That speaker is the left one. Doh…

Oh nooo. something is on the ground. Looks suboptimal

Hi, you have to ask @biddler66 . I found that picture when tapping Clearaudio Ovation, to help perhaps Josquin in his search.

It’s alright FR. What I took to be the righthand speaker is actually the left, I’m certain.

I have heard of people toe-ing their speakers in to that extent, though…

Or was it a dream…too many hifi forums!

Which cartridge do you use on the Simplex?

Well tempered TLC or Osawa OS 301
