Anyone with experience with this switch (and/or the GX clock within the same series)?
Anyone who doesn’t believe that clocks or networking devices can make a difference please save me your contribution.

Had one for a while. Made a positive difference,if subtle. Easily impeoved upon by what I now use; Gustard N18 pro: much ‘better’. Inbuilt LPSU plus high quality construction & components.
It has an external clock input which I did try: no discernible difference. The only benefit a xlock may bring is lower noise,
Network tweaks are very, very system dependent. Worth experimenting with though.

The NX costs €3600 and is bettered by a €529 switch by Gustard?
Aren’t you taking about the standard Bonn N8?

Ah, sorry. Standard N8. If you’re in the market at that kind of spend, I’d be thinking about a new Dela S50, or a good used Melco S10.
Worth trying the Gustard though; it might well be all you need. It does perform well above its price point.

I sold recently my Phoenixnet. For financial needs. After 10 days running of my new EE8, i am very surprised to discover that the former is not superior in all aspects.
The Phoenixnet costs 6 times more.
It’s fuller vs the EE8, but the EE8 gives a snappier bass and is more groovy. On my new system with the Lumin Mini U2 as transport into Nds .
Have not compared with bare Nds.

Interesting question!
Using it as a transport in to my Moon 390: very similar to local file playback via Roon. Has a slight edge over Qobuz (comparing same ‘versions’ as far as I can determine.
As an integrated player using analogue out to 390: quite a different presentation which is unsurprising a the 390 and 1700 use different DACs, power supplies, etc. warmer sound but not quite as resolving. Using good SACDs (why I use it!) then the 1700ne comes in to its own. Extermely good and much ‘better than Qobuz or local file. I did listen again recently to the SACD version of ‘In A Silent Way’; the SACd version is sublime.
The 1700NE is underrated, imo. Tremendous value at around £1k; worth taking a listen to if in the market. It’s also really well put together and more or less silent in operation.

I’m considering buying a CD player, it will probably be the 1700ne or 3000ne.
Looking at reviews, they both seem to be top of the pile in their price bracket.
I have the DP3000NE/DL103 turntable, very impressed, produces a beautiful, balanced and musical sound, no matter the genre or production quality.
Although obviously there are exceptions.
