Hi, in addition to my Naim at home, I use a so-called bluetooth smart-speaker when I’m out and about for streaming from my iPhone - and of course occasional forays outside when I’m pruning the hedge or washing the car 
I have an Ultimate Ears Boom Megaboom 3 and am finding the artificially over blown thud of the bass irritating. Any recommendations for a replacement with better sound? Even for possibly using two for stereo..

I was in the same situation, the boom is great at playing loud and listening from a distance but anything close up it sounded like a bad car stereo from the 80’s….
I tried the B&O a1 but that was disappointing so was returned, it sounded worse than my old Bose sound link mini….
I wanted the Dali g2 (looks beautiful) but I felt it looked a little too delicate….
I ended up with a Bose flex - so far impressed and for £99 it’s better than my boom for lower volume listening in the garden, the right size /weight for holidays and overnight stays in hotels
Btw it goes loud still but there are bigger versions if you want more oomph but I haven’t tried those as this flex met my needs!
I hope you only deploy these devices in situations where nobody else can hear them. Inflicting your choice of music on innocent bystanders is grounds for homicide in my opinion, especially in static situations such on the beach or on public transport.
I like my JBL Charge 4. They’re now up to Charge 6, but Amazon.com (US) still has the 4s for $100.
Of course the 6 for about $160 might offer a sonic improvement.
Sorry for the thread drift, but can you point me towards that isolation plinth? I’m looking for something pretty much identical.
Oh, and the Bose Soundlink Mini is pretty decent. We’ve had one in the kitchen for some time and are very happy with it.

Just a little Amazon job and I used audiostack Auva’s to support it but it comes with spikes and pads which were fine when I first used it. It sits on a standard unit so a little isolation helps
I’m going to disagree with @Farthings-cat - I have the B&O A1 and I think it’s a top notch piece of kit. Much more subtle and nuanced than many smart speakers and looks v classy. Wouldn’t be without mine
I like the Beosound A1 as well, which you can create a stereo pair with over bluetooth. Likewise the much more powerful Beolit 20’s which sound great in a stereo pair and look quite good too. The Sonos Move speaker packs a punch, but for bluetooth only use I don’t think you can create a stereo pair.

Fair enough but side by side with my very old Bose sound link the A1 sounded no better.
I much prefer the sound signature of the Bose flex but different strokes etc.

I have a, at least 10 year old, B&O A2.
It is beautiful to use and look at. Brilliant build and sounds exceptional in and out of doors.
In the 10 years or so I’ve changed the battery, but everyday I use it I am so pleased I took the plunge and purchased it.
It is most probably my longest serving bit of kit. Although my B&O TX2 turntable is older but I’ve not owned as long.
Dali Katch G2 here. Fabulous little thing. Comes with me on trips away.
Kef Muo seems to fit the bill, you can pair two for stereo. That’s what I have.
Depending on budget you could also consider the Devialet Mania. Amazing sound, but very expensive. Can’t pair two, but doesn’t really need that IMO. Like with the Mu-so or Qb you almost don’t realise it’s just one.
The G2 looks the business but I needed lighter and a bit more “rugged”
That said I still wanted one as it’s a nice looking thing!
Have always been impressed with JBL flip, great sound. Currently using flip 5 and have had no bother, very solid and rugged using in garden and holidays. Family members have also bought flips and have been impressed. I also recently bought JBL Go 4, now updated to GO 5, a smaller version that imo sounds great also but not as beefy ( I do things like this 
)

B&O A1 2nd gen here. Little bit of sound tweaking in the app and I’m very happy with it.
I’m quite happy with a Move, easy to “move” around into different rooms. Sound is ok as long as you don’t expect more than that, any BT speakers will not perform anything like your main setup - far from.
