I think I may be Naim’s target audience on the solstice, my wallet is not, however. I’m starting to realise the marketing appeal of" limited edition" I recently went thru the effort of changing from Harbeth to Dynaudio speakers - the Heritage Special checked all the right boxes except I couldn’t get, see or hear them. Instead, ended up with Dynaudio Confidence 20’s. I have managed to (over the years) build a fairly high level lp-12, right now just sitting as it needs a cartridge. The other " problem" is, as much as I’ve spent, it was always incremental. The solstice is a big purchase in one fell swoop.
I’ve had the Tiger Paw Elevator fitted by Derek Jenkins R.I.P when I switched from an Afromosia plinth to The Tangerine Audio Stiletto in 2016.
Previously on the LP 12 I had an Aromatic arm lift for the Aro again Derek fitted never had a problem in its usage.
Regards,
No time for a demo if you really want one.
IN faith Chris yes and love Naim so I to am purchasing a Solstice, My recently upgraded LP12 w/Urika,Radikal ,Akiva now Kandid.Ekos SE, Karousel and Keel. I will indeed be very curious and devout time trying to determine ‘is there a better sound’ between the two machines but I have a strong feeling this will be a very tough decision? All life is learning? system is NAIM S1 ,EMM Mono amps,ND555 X2 PS. Adept Response conditioner, speakers Wilson Alexia 2.
I see you have EMM MTRX monos. Their price is similar to the Statement monos. Why this choice, if I may ask? Specially as you have the S1.
In truth these were chosen based on fist time in home audition after swapping out out my 500 which in comparison sounded broken- The Statements would have looked better yes but performance of EMM’s was ( is) stunning .
2000, 4th bolt added near motor on top plate, fitted as standard. Required extra cross beam on plinth.
I’ve seen this entry before but I think its wrong. The 4th bolt mod was way back in 1988.
I am sure Wikipedia will take account of your observation, if you can give them a solid information.
Your streaming subscription provides you with music … for this comparison to be valid you’d firstly have to total up your vinyl purchases for 43 years.
Noooo, I just paid Qobuz for couple of years like an idiot. Never liked the streaming - to much missing.
But even it had worked out, rented music (why not use the correct term) disappears when you stop paying. All those albums (LP/CD) stay with me.
Sounds like reimagined 1970s retro….
Maybe not. I recall that the future was meant to be bright and orange.
Thats the past now.
Done!
Rather just getting tired of the music system becoming more shiny new expensive objects rather than tools for listening to music.
But it had the opposite effect. I got some very good offers for that renovated LP12 so I let it go.
Next time I’ll spray graffiti all over the 252
Not really a surprise, Shirley…?
To dealers surely? They will now be available to buy by the likes of us?
