I have an irrational fear/dislike of buttons - can’t explain it but it stems from my childhood.
I challenge you pulling the book out without dropping the pots!

Well I never, can’t say why but I just found buttons in my grandmother’s sewing box and perhaps my mother’s too to seem dirty/unclean. Very odd.
Here’s another one:
I find the picture at the top of that site quite unpleasant/distasteful for no rational reason!
I’d like to think it’s because most of them just look cheap and tacky!

well I guess it could range from a gimp suit to wet suit but the reality is a whole lot less interesting.
Although I did say ‘fussing about buttons’ and not no buttons at all
I’m an engineer and generally quite casual so haven’t worn a suit/tie for years. Having said that, I work in the space industry (hence the avatar) so do wear cleanroom gear on occasions (so zips and poppers instead of buttons).

Nice! The closest I got to is working for a telco that sent a couple of satellite into space and thankful we didn’t need to exercise the insurance policies on them. 
Still haven’t consumed my celebratory ice cream yet.

Going seriously off thread, I go swimming and with CV19 the idea is that you disrobe in a public area with your costume on underneath.
So yesterday I showered , dried got prepared , packed my sports bag and got to the front door.
I decided to check something and went back for something to find my swimming trunks on the arm of the chair…
Imagine the feeling of dropping your trousers to find no shorts on underneath…

I wouldn’t want those weebles on top of my speakers.
I have a pile of 36 pennies on top of mine, though only out of concern for others.
When the pennies fall over then the music may be too loud, so I turn it down a bit.
Or re-stack the pennies more carefully.
