Spotify Connect issue on Muso2

Still not seeing the muso2 as a Spotify connect device on android. Working on iOS though.

Same here - To be honest I don’t WANT to disable Google Cast as it may come in useful at some point. Happy to stick with iPad use for the moment. Maybe @Stevesky could offer some insight as I don’t we believe we are the only people having this problem and it must be frustrating for those who have Android only devices in the household.

Same isssue here as I posted it earlier

Hi all,

in the case of Spotify connect, the Naim app is not used. This is between the Spotify app snd the Spotify Connect library built into the product.

From what I can tell from this thread:

  1. IOS is ok
  2. PC desktop is ok
  3. Android is not (or a least for some people)

I’ll ask one of my colleagues in the test team to review this, but in the meantime please raise a support ticket with our helpdesk as they will need to capture details like Android version, phone model, Spotify app version, network hardware etc. see:

Not to point fingers, but it hints Spotify have an issue with their latest Android app.

I know quite a few customers aim to get technical support from this forum, but the support staff don’t post or monitor these threads + it’s chaos attempting to do tech support in this manner ss everything gets mixed up and critical data can’t be collected easily,

Best

Steve

Steve,

I absolutely agree that this would appear to be a fault with the Spotify App, as this problem occured post a Spotify update, not a Naim App update (prior to your own 8.0 release).

Interestingly once a Connect ā€˜Session’ has been established on an iOS device, hand off and new track selection remains seamless to an Android device. We have 2 Android devices and 4 iOS devices, an 555, an Atom and a QB all fully up to date - all exhibit identical behsvior.

For myself, its not a major issue as I generally use an iPad for listening from both Core and Spotify, but it must be very frustrating for those who only have access to Android Devices.

You simply cannot start a Connect session from an Android device, the only option ā€˜from cold’ for want of a better description, is Google Cast.

Does seem to be a Spotify issue:

Also noted if Spotify is connected thru Google Cast multiroom isn’t available while playing Spotify, needs to connect by Spotifyconnect in Naim app in order to use multiroom.

Naim multiroom works for inputs in the Naim app. Google Cast, Airplay and Roon have their own multiroom option.
