Star + Kef R3 or Q Concerto

Curious if anyone has any one of these combos and what their opinions are.

Does the Star have enough power for them and are they very good for small rooms and near field listening? I’m in a 8.5’ x 11’ living room with 9’ ceilings.

I’m running R3 Metas off an Atom and they sound great. You should have no struggle with a Star.

Do you find enough low end with rock music? These speakers seem amazing with detail but I’m concerned they’ll be too bright.

I demoed against the B&W 705 and also the Dali Rubikore 2 but both were too lightweight for my tastes.

The R3 Metas were replacing KEF LS50s and produce much better bass while smoothing a slightly screechy treble at the very top.

I do also run a REL T5i sub but this is now mostly redundant as had to tune crossover further down to match the R3s.

I’m really happy with my setup now and listen to everything from 90s thrash metal to Vivaldi to drum and bass.

I run my Star with a pair of PMC25/23i’s and it sounds great
