So who bought the Statement system off the Bay for 60K then? I think it’s going to need a service.

I can’t find it under sold items, did the search with Naim Nac S1 and Naim Nap S1.
It was listed for £50K direct on their website….
Even if twelve years old if the casework isn’t hammered then that is a bargain price. I’ve no idea how much a Naim service for all three costs. Even when that is factored in that is still not much more than a new 552/500. Sobering!

When we were shown around Naim for the beta testing visit, there was the original Naim prototype which became their demo unit in for servicing…….so there will be a few coming up for service i guess.

I wonder if they’ve established a cost yet for the service. My S1 pre is only four and a bit years old so I think it will see me or at least my hearing out!

To be fair it’s only lost about £75k from its new price of about £125k when new all them years ago. It just looks worse as the statement system gas gone up so much.
But at £50k it shows what they go for these days, and i think that’s a bit of a bargain myself.

Got to love the way we audiophiles think £50k is a bargain! I know it’s all relative but not sure me explaining it’s a bargain to my wife would land well!
I did hear a statement with 500dr verses a 552 at Basically Sound, as you would expect it was a nice uplift in performance albeit at a cost!

Well a bargin to what the new price is these days, now whether it still a good way to spend £50k these days, thats a completely different question.

Here in Singapore the quoted price for a S1 monoblock failed to powered up is a $10k repair cost.
I’m a watcher of this too, did you get an offer of 12.5k reduction, 9.1%
Now If i re mortgage the flat?

Statement demo amps from Focal/Naim dealer offered for $55000. Great bargain for someone with more money than me.
