Streamer's sorting by 'Album' issue

I’ve just twigged that on my streamers, they can’t sort into individual albums.

For example on the new Eversolo T8 the content under the ‘Album’ tab is blank (‘No album temporarily’) and under artists with more than one album it just lists the tracks mixing them up rather than splitting by Album. On the Wiim, if I switch to ‘Album’ sorting, it does still list by artist.

If I look at my ‘NAS’ drive directly from the PC, it is clearly separated into Artist Folders and then Album sub-folders.

Rips have always been through DB Power Amp.

Anyone any ideas how to sort this out, e.g. is it settings on the streamers or do I need to fiddle with Metadata on old (if I can) and new rips?

Actually I may have sussed this on my server trees, please hold caller…

What does the meta data say? Are the Album title tags populated with something?

It’s how Twonky was sending the data. Somehow it had reset itself to tracks rather than folders…

Have you tried running MinimServer on the NAS and then from the client app opening that?

I haven’t but the fault was with Twonky, it had somehow reset to showing tracks only and I had to rescan the nas to get the folders tree back.

Tbh I rarely use the nas, it’s only a WD device with a hundred or so albums on it but was irritating when I did want to just put it on and leave it running for a few hours the other day.

All sorted now though and nvme with same library is now installed into T8 which sounds better that way too…
