Streaming to Marantz NA7004

Although my main sources remain my LP12 and NAT01, I have been spending a bit of time getting my main system streaming well, recently adding a Melco N1Z and Roon Nucleus to feed my ND555/ 2 x 555PS. That’s working and sounding great. The change was brought about by the failure of my old NUC based Roon Core and my Naim NS01 which served me well for 10 years.

In my garage system I have a Marantz NA7004 streamer, which also does FM radio. It will stream internet radio and used to be able to see my NS01, but hasn’t been able to see the Melco since I switched the Melco to Roon mode. I found a Sonore upnp Bridge on the ‘Bay, which after a bit of fiddling on Roon now allows me to see the NA7004 as a Squeezebox audio zone. Great. Except that whenever I select that zone in Roon and an album to play, it never seems to get going, nothing comes down the line and it reports “too many failures”. I’ve tried it in my listening room, plugged into the EE8 switch, but just the same. Any networking gurus able to point me in the right direction?

Try looking in the roon log files for more info.

Thank you for the offers of help. I narrowed down the problem to a faulty Ethernet cable connecting my Roon bridge to the rest of the network. I now have a reasonably good connection. Please close/ delete the thread.
