That was indeed the point.
Oops. Misread. Yes, in that case the Spendors would fit the bill very well. (Iām so tired these days)
Iām a bit late to this thread Chris so apologies
I have the SN3 and Neat Ministraās combination
Very impressive I must say very happy
However couldnāt help myself - I have a pair of the Neat Petite 30 anniversaryās on way here (Sydney) and should arrive next week
Speaking to Bob owner of Neat - the Ministraās have more base being isobaric loading but the Petites have a wider sound stage but still good base. At the end of the day just different and will be personal preference between the 2 models
Iām really looking forward to the comparison but no doubt will keep both pairs as can swap around from time to time. If youāre interested I can let you know my thoughts when Petites run in
Cheers
Bevo
Actually ā¦ although I expected that to be the case ā¦ I found front ported D2ās needed more space than rear ported Tablettes in the same location.
Lack of progress lately. Iāve been patiently waiting for my ND5 XS2 streamer, which came in today so tonight Iāll be having a play.
Found myself with a bit more time on my hands lately which gave me good bonding time with the ND5 XS2. Iād just like to thank the person who cancelled their XS2 order, which bumped me up the list by one and resulted in my XS2 coming home.
Iāve also since cancelled my Qobuz service and migrated across to Tidal. Iām much happier with the Tidal service for various reasons.
My perosnal experience with the XS2 vs the NODE 2021 is as follows;
- No more speaker hum with the XS2 (Iām using the XS2 supplied DIN cable for connectivity).
- Sound is marginally better with the XS2 but as I changed streaming services this could be a factor too.
- The XS2 looks superb stacked on my Supernait 3. This passes my OCD for uniformity.
- I do miss the physical presets that the NODE had. I wish the XS2 had a couple phyical buttons that can be mapped.
- I do miss having a Windows app to control the XS2.
Things I really LOVE about the XS2. One of the Naim radio stations called SuperStereo1. This station was made for me, it reminds me of a station I listened to in my youth called Club 977, 80s. Their playlist is quite similar so Iāve had chance to add some songs Iād forgotton about to my Tidal playlist.
Iām connected to my network via wired ethernet and it hasnāt missed a beat. I canāt comment on WiFi or bluetooth as Iāve not needed to use it.
Naim - please release a Windows app. Iād love you forever more.
When behind my computer, I use the Tidal desktop app via Connect. Works perfect imo.
Nice speakers Daniel, I would love to hear a pair.
But these speakers are 1000 pounds over his budget and do you have yours on a bookshelf? Or has the thread moved on from bookshelf to floorstanders?
Thanks for sharing, never explored the Naim channels and it seems a 80s channel that does not just play the obvious tracks. High quality (FLAC 96kHz 16-bit) too!
