I did have a Supernait 2 years ago,and it was very nice. The 3 is nicer,though its a few years ago so cant be too specific.
I also appreciate the balance control,which the 50 doesnt have.i have some hearing loss right side,so can correct for this.
For what itās worth, in over 40 years Iāve never heard a bad sounding Naim amplifier. They are just far too well designed to sound bad. Thatās not to say that some donāt sound better than others. 
Iāve never heard the Supernait 3 but Iād be very surprised if it didnāt sound excellent.
As for the Nait 50, I recently had the opportunity to compare my new Nait 50 with the 30 + year old Nait 2 that I inherited from my late Dad (RIP Pop 
). Iām pleasantly surprised to find how similar both amplifiers are sonically. The Nait 50 has the charm of the Nait 2 but with a greater sense of refinement. 
That Nait 2 though is an absolute honey, what a design.

I agree! The Nait 2 has certainly stood the test of time.
I know they have the Nait 50 (and I have two) but there is a Musical Fidelity A1 lesson here that the Nait 2 is the most visually well executed one of the lot (ok thatās a personal opinion).
It looks like the best 911 you ever saw, the symmetry of the design is epic.
The aesthetic aspect of this hobby is so subjective. One person may like a componentās design while another may not. Personally, Iām a fan of the chrome bumper Naim gear as well as the olive series. I also like the shoebox sized audio gear because of its modularity and compactness. For those who like all three, thereās the first generation chrome bumper Nait 2 with the olive series pretty green light.
Thatās interesting. Harbeth P3ESR requires a powerful amp to come alive, and that may have explained on your preference for the Supernait 3 although I noticed that there is someone here who uses the Nait 50 with P3ESR.
Sounds more like Rega than Naim 
indeed ! I B2Bād my NN50 with a SN3 and my EXA100 late last year.
In the room intended for the SN3 and with the speakers [AlChris TX-9ās] I preferred the NN50, then the EXA100 and the SN3 came in last. I didnāt buy it on that basis.
its not about better, its all about environment and personal preference.
I also have the P3s only in a slightly smaller room. I would say 4x4m is at or approaching their limit so quite understand your preference for the SN3.
Good to read some of your comments. Iāve had a SN3 for 18 months and absolutely love it. It is my first piece of Naim hifi after years of envy. However, reading various threads on this forum was making me feel sonically inadequate so itās reassuring to read your comments. So, to achieve a significant sound improvement over the SN3, what would you experienced audiophiles suggest?
When I was looking to upgrade my SN3 + HCDR in my main system, people on the forum recommended the 282 + HCDR + 250DR, however, I demoed these at my local Naim dealer and did not think they were that much of an improvement over the SN3, a bit, but not enough to justify the price difference, however, the dealer also had a 252 + SCDR + 300DR and that definately was a significant improvement over the SN3, but at significantly more cost.
I just did not have the space for 4 boxes of amplification plus 2 boxes of NDX2 + XPS DR in my family lounge room, so ended up buying a 2 box solution with a Lumin P1 + Lumin Power Amp.
Now using my SN3 + HCDR in my Study System, they are just so good.
Just enjoy it and donāt overthink it.
Itās a great unit and I prefer mine on its own.
Naim have been very foresighted about support on these mothballing components for future support and service rather than selling out.

Thanks Skeptical, thatās good to know. My upgrade to the SN3 was from a 1980ās original Cyrus 2 so I do tend to hang on to things!
If youāre considering the now discontinued Classic range people are discussing here, for me even a 202/200 is a clear step up from a Supernait, but if you can go straight to a 282 instead of a 202 thatās a more significant jump. Personally I liked it a lot with a 200DR, and I liked the relative simplicity of a system that didnāt need a Hicap, although that does bring significant benefits too.
The natural partner for the 282 was the 250 of course, and this will drive more demanding speakers than the 200. For me the 282/250 did some things better than the 282/200, but on balance I preferred the latter.
Unlimately you need to listen to these amps for yourself and see what appeals. Asking āexperienced audiophilesā here will get you a range of often conflicting opinions, generally based on limited experience of items we have (hopefully) heard or owned. Take it all with a large pinch of salt.
I went from SN2/HCDR to Rega Aethos.
In Naim boxes to get a real improvement, you need to enter separates, thereās a lot of choice there, as you might know.
Just two suggestions:
NC 332/350
Nac 252/Nap 250DR
Both with extra matching power supply
332/350 with extra power supply is around Ā£25k so I certainly hope itās a step up!! If New Classic stuff is up for consideration I think a simpler 2-box 332/250 might be enough.
