Was Qobuz Connect functionality included in firmware updates for the Superuniti 2? Considering buying a 2nd hand unit and Qobuz Connect is my preferred streaming interface.

This is the official announcement. The annswer appears to be no.
There is no Mk2 version of the Superuniti. They are all the same apart from the addition of Bluetooth on later models. Not that this makes any difference, as none of them support Qobuz (Connect or otherwise) unless you are up for a workaround.
I believe there is no chance for Qobuz Connect – or Qobuz at all, natively – on any of the 1st gen streamers, which includes the Superuniti 2. That ship has sailed. If you use Qobuz Connect you need to look to newer solutions, Naim or otherwise.
With a SuperUniti you need an external box of some sort to support Hi-Res internet radio and things like Tidal/Qobuz Connect endpoints.
We use a RPI for this, with a DAC hat. Works perfectly.

Our RPI outputs all audio via S/PDIF. Sorry, it’s not a DAC hat at all! We do have a DAC hat in a cupboard somewhere, that outputs analogue audio via standard RCAs. We’re using a digital output hat (a board which slots onto RPI).
So effectively we use the RPI as a streaming transport.
Still use SU DAC.
