its plugged into the Tuner input of the 252 and the aerial connection goes up to a dab/fm aerial, its on an IFI wall wart, it sounds rarther good for a bit of radio 3 and local radio and through its own speaker for radio 4. It lives on top of my box of valves for the Mjolnir 2.
Yes I too used to connect mine up when I had Naim separates sounds very good so much better than you would expect.
Placed multiple bids but you beat me to it. Not that I specifically wanted the sofa but for the cause.
Well done.
Good to see Zu featuring there.
it’s the picture with 2 lps on the floor? i like the look of these speakers, they are also easy loading. But didn’t heard them. Have you?
Those are Zu Omens. Tremendous value for money. I have heard them several times but also further up the range. I have Zu Soul Superfly and they’re a joy but very different to traditional Hi-Fi speakers.
Love a bit of Lego, way too much of the stuff in our household!
Wow Dave , amazing set up , not looked at this thread for some time so late so late congrats.I can now appreciate how loud loud will be when you let us know what you are currently grooving to .As others have also commented ,nice Strat
Thanks, Alan,
I’m very fortunate in that I have neighbours on only one side of my house, so if they’re away, loud means LOUD!
Mind you, they have a jacuzzi just over the fence from my music room, and we have discussed my opening the windows, and them texting requests … doesn’t half help when you have good neighbours.
It’s a lovely Strat, though with my somewhat limited abilities, even after a lifetime of study, it’s more “show” than “go”.
Thanks to Richard Dane SL2 tips and a few members on PF, 2 hours later and bags of patience these are now up and running.
Out with the old Allaes and in with the SL2s
Mine is the penultimate system. The only obvious change since is an Origin Live turntable. However, there are cable changes and ND555 replacing NDS and a bigger TV. I’ll add some updated pictures soon.
Congratulations and welcome to the elite owners club
Similar wood finish to mind, though mine are probably a lot older…
enjoy/ken
I still prefer my (our) SBLs…
which origin live model? is it a fast and involving turntable sound?
Your system seems to have changed a good bit from my memory. 300DR next?
Cheers Ken, the serial number indicates year 2005.
No, sticking with three boxes.
The SL2s really come alive with a 300
It is the Resolution Mk 4 together with Conqueror tonearm. This latest update to the turntable includes the Light Speed Controller which claims 0.0001% speed drift and 0.04% wow and flutter better than most direct drives.
There is a review on the Stereo Times Website.
I have ND555 for digital playback and, whilst this is superior to my old NDS, it is outperformed by the analogue system.
Hi Gerry,
Which cartridge & phono stage are you using with your OL turntable?
I am wondering whether to buy a second TT to complement the Vertere, just because…
Best regards, BF
