I’d like to see a photo of your record collection, Jim. You must have a room full!

Today the NDX left and an ND555 came in to join the Olive amps, 1st listen is already impressive while brand new. Looking forward to the rollercoaster.

nice one, no slumming it with an NDX2 then!

I made two mistakes, one was picking up a second hand 555PS so the cost difference was lowered, and the other was auditioning both the NDX2 and the ND555. The NDX2 did sound superb in my home, but the ND555 was a massive step up, and even from cold this is sounding amazing. Man I love listening to great music.

Yes i made that mistake thinking it would not be that much better…just 2 or 3 notes on a piano from Dr John, i was sold😁

When you have a very small caravan you need a very small hifi.

Nothing wrong with a Tivoli (or red and goats cheese come to that)!

Enjoy (now) Eoink. I’ve been mildly amused by the amount of chat about ND555 run in on the impressions thread. Some would have it as a black vs white experience, but I really wonder. I’ve been through many such burn ins so I’d wager that the worst point of run will simply be a bit dull vs the finished article, but never will it be anything but demonstrably better than what you’ve been used to. Good, if expensive, choice

I have an odd shaped room, T shape with an RSJ hanging 70cm from the ceiling between the crossbar and the main room. This leads to bass boom pretty easily, when I had my Olive amps serviced a couple of years ago as the 135s bass levels changed during the 1st month I had days of booming or disappearing bass which then recovered, but always listenable. The ND555 has been stunning from cold, it already has much better bass control and detail than my Roksan TMS, I hope it gets even better. And beyond that hifi speak bass comment, the music is wonderfully compelling, I’m finding it hard to stop listening, although to be fair music does that to me.

Well done Eoink. The ultimate source and no doubt will be a great source of pleasure for many years to come. The “La Tache” of streamers. Lucky you.

Recently swapped 282 with my new 252 and split my Quadraspire SVT racks.

Left: 252, NDX2 & Uniti Core (bottom shelf)
Right: SCDR, 555PSDR, 250DR

ATC SCM 19s with Tellurium Ultra Black 2 speaker cables, SL interconnects, Powerlines into Wireworld Matrix 2 plug board.

The 252 sounded great from the off and still improving. I’m considering 300DR as my next upgrade..

hi bongoman

have you explored some panels on and or behind the walls adjacent to the speakers ?

maybe that can be your next upgrade ?

@anon93526344 I haven’t tried panels yet. I’m not sure if I need them TBH. The ATCs are sealed speakers and not fussy about room placement or being near to walls. They’re a great match for my room (3.5m x 3.5m), bass is taut with no boom.
