Hi Dave, did you notice much difference in SQ with the longer legs? Some may be the effect of cables hanging better. Yesterday I moved the PS555DR to bottom of the middle stack moving the PSs for 300 and 252 up. That seems to be a good order!

I’d guess the SL IC will continue to get better.

How can you see your walls through the Alison and Bobbie posters?

Hi Phil,
I was moved to add the taller legs following your post a few days ago regarding the SCDR and its preference not to be boxed in. It was in my brawn rack! The system sounds brilliant at the moment; better than it ever has by some distance. I suspect much of that is down to the SL IC, the effect of which was to draw me back into the music in a way that just wasn’t there with the stock IC.
Best

Temporary main system!

1490 albums on hard drive plus TIDAL hi-fi subscription.

Surprising how many small changes improved the sound of the Muso. Even filling the shelf with books made a significant positive difference.

Come on, Kev. Surely the lady of the house would describe that as ‘mustard’ :grinning:

Picked up my Roksan TMS today, back from repair to the arm I clumsily damaged. TMS/Artemiz/Shiraz(modified)/Artaxerxes sitting happily back on its Mana stand and sounding sweet. Welcome home Ziggy.

Thanks, my room is quite small, currently my 707 S2’s are about 30 cm, but I have to use the foam ring plug.

I’ve just added the Rega wall shelf for the RP10/Aphelion. Earlier in the week the racking was reorganised into three racks left to right and top to bottom
Aria, 252, 300 head
Supercap DR, 300DR, 555DR
CDX2, Innuos Mini Zen Mk 3 (on loan), nDAC powered by 555

The first impression of the Rega on the shelf is that everything is better defined.

The Innuos is in it’s first 24 hours. It imports from (copies) and attaches to the NAS share without problems. The iPeng 9 App makes it easy to play via the nDAC (AQ Forest optical). Ripping is fine and soundwise it seems as good as using CDX2 as transport. I assume it will drive a streamer well via its uPnP or Roon Core.

I need to test metadata editing - anyone have experience?

A warning/reminder to those posting photos that if you have location information in the photo the world at large can locate your beautiful equipment.

@Richard.Dane is their anyway the sure can prohibit copying of images?

@Filipe

Good point.

There is an easy way to remove all metadata from your pictures:

  • Download XnView for Mac or PC (it is free software)
  • Go to Edition, then Metadata
  • Then erase IPTC data

Thanks Thomas. So far on my iPad I can’t give it permission in Settings Privacy Photos as it’s not listed.

Nothing new for 2019 just yet. 272/XPSDR/250DR wSL IC, 2 Powerlines and 5M NACA5 into Dynaudio Contour 20 bolted to Stand 20. SL SC or 555DR to replace XPSDR this year maybe. Things sound great so maybe no change at all.

Hui Phil,
Try « Metapho» app for iPad. You can easily remove metedata then share your pictures.

I’d have to ask our developer what’s possible, if anything.

Aha, something that HoopLa did better! The option to strip out location data from photos was enabled by default.

I’m worried now that someone might come after my socks.

The request for updates on how you get on with the special 40s is seconded from me as well, as I am seriously considering them too. Partly due to your experience as reported on the old forum but also pretty much everything I have read about them says they are amazing value for money. I really want to try them!
