In the end, the macassar , non-fluted plinth was my first and held a bit of nostalgia for me. Happy with my decision
Beautiful … I feel like i need to take a better pick of mine!
@varyat @Massingham – a Harban ebony plinth is on my to-do list, as well. i can’t quite decide between fluted or non: a first-world dilemma if ever there was one.
(sometimes i think about a fluted walnut limited-edition Linn plinth, too…)
Is it your bathroom system?
Ditto. I know it has its critics but I still want try an LP12 one day.
Don’t listen to the critics, listen to the LP12 and make your own mind up RackKit. I did and bought one.
There is the matter of setup and maintenance. Here in the States, the Rega makes a lot more sense to me from that regard. Compromises and practicality are important factors, and Rega make a fine deck as well.
A most valid point Bart. My dealer is only a 20 minute drive away which really helps of course. What I would say is that the Linn does travel (by car for example) if correctly packed. A few hundred miles would not put me off if I liked it. But a Rega or other plug and play player would start to look attractive outside of this range.

I’m sorry to tell you, but i’m leaving Naim. Altough it brought me great joy and happiness, I moved on to another great audio equipment.
But I’ll keep on following you!!
I believe it is no problem at all to post pictures here of non Naim systems. We are a very inclusive bunch of blokes.
I’ve only had an LP12. I’ve owned 2 in over 40 years. Not bad for brand loyalty. My first deck was an Ariston RD80 which also had interesting links with Linn way back when.
I had a Xerxes for nearly 30 years ravenswood. When it went wrong the aftercare was not great so looked for a replacement. The Ariston wasn’t available so I had a listen to the Linn. Being aware this is system pics…
My Father in Law still runs his RD80 and I do the servicing thanks to parts like springs and grommets from my Linn dealer.
Here’s my LP12 having a rest. Standard plinth though,
The lovely design would fit really well in our mid-century modern living room. I think that from an industrial design aspect, the LP-12 is beautiful.
Source, amp, speaker? What‘s the rest?
Clear Audio Avantgarde, Unify tone arm, Maestro V2 MM cartridge
Innuos Zenmini mk3 4tb, with linear power supply upgrade
CristalCable Micro Diamond interlinks
Simply Audio Cadenza speaker wire
Now playing over my old B&W, I’ll have to choose between AN-J or Living Voice, both sounds very nice in my space, or do you have any suggestions?
I have the same rack (Norstone) but in different color.
Aye, you’re right Stuart. What spec is yours?
