System Pics 2019

What lovely looking Credos!

Great system Steve. Electronics the same as my system will be when I take delivery of a NAP 500DR in a couple of days, apart from the 2nd PS on the CD555. What difference did you find that made?

@markah I actually bought the CD555 used as a replacement for my CDS3 and had it serviced. I bought 2 555PS DR new at the same time to use with it. I have never used it with one supply! Sounds good to me though! Not sure how long the power supplies take to burn in properly but its been about 2 months now.

Who will be the first to stand on one I wonder, bet that’s painful in socks.

@Steve just found your thread regarding this now. By the sounds of it I’ll have to be careful if and when I try a 2nd 555PS on the CD player myself, as it’s not universally regarded as an improvement.

I could have guessed you enjoyed mashed swede

Yeah, we have some terrible food around here. My mother came from Finland and they are just as bad … try Kalakukko or Memma!

I would say that we might be worse. This is mämmi (memma), the traditional Easter dessert

I think they are both rather nice, especially on a cold winter’s night.

@TheKevster You are a brave man if you have tasted and even liked those – foreigners seldom do…

I have tried Kalakukko and am not a fan. There is plenty of really nice food in Sweden and Finland too. I lived in Vadstena for two years in the early 80s and thought it was a wonderful place. I especially liked the kräftskiva.

We have our share of horrible food in UK: Tripe & Onions or Roast Ox Heart come to mind.

Nights are getting longer and the days are despite the lovely sunshine getting chilly. So I’ve got the slippers on.

My new Clearaudio Emotion SE, sounds as good as it looks. A bargain, the arm and cartridge as stand alone items cost £1800, the deck in total is £2060.

Good memories

Owned an Emotion back in the 2008-2009 … lot of fun

Enjoy it!

Good tuner?

Very good tuner, a valve Magnum Dynalab, it produces wonderful sounds and one of my listening experiences of the year. On Christmas Eve the wonderful service from Kings.

If you want to test your system it has bass from the organ voluntary , sweet treble from the choristers and spoken word.

Christmas starts then.

I have an 01 which I love - no cool meters though

I went to buy an 01 and was told they had stopped making them about a month earlier.

So put it on the back burner, then I had a long period of surgery and had the Dynalab installed and for a while it was my favourite source over the CDX2 ( in other words getting out of chairs was difficult) .

Still have NAT 03 upstairs in a box along with a similar vintage CD player.
