Well spotted. Also have an FM3 (with Nait 3 and ES14s) doing workshop duty.

Very good! I have had many Quad tuners over the years, starting with the FM tuner with bolt on stereo decoder that went with the 22 control unit, then the FM2, then the FM3, then the FM4, then the 99FM and recently I bought an FM4 again.
I remember the FM3 had a fancy system for placing the station markers whereas the FM2 involved positioning little magnetic blobs behind the dial and it was very difficult to get them to line up properly!

You’re probably best opening a specific thread or searching for previous threads. The question has been addressed many, many times.
Ah now I notice that all your station markers are at the left hand end on the FM3. Do you know how to set them, because I can tell you if not!
And you haven’t got them at all on your FM2. They used to come in a plastic bag in the packing so perhaps the first owner never bothered. I bet Quad still could supply them…

Dealer dropped by yesterday and picked up the demo XPS-DR I had for the past two plus weeks. He also brought with him and installed a new XPS-DR and a Quadraspire Q4 EVO Bamboo shelf to place it on. Fantastic service and very happy with the uplift from the power supply!
Life is Grand!
Beautiful room - the hi fi BELONGS in the room. Well done.
This reflects this weekend’s change to the System. Out with the 252/SC, in with the 552. It’s fresh from the factory (dealer didn’t open the box) and it’s both enormously engaging AND a bit veiled; the latter I’m sure will ‘burn off’ as everyone says it will. The musical engagement is heard through the veil - absolutely.
It’s below my RP-8, but there’s an empty Fraim level above the 552 and below the RP-8. I’m not up for a wall shelf for the tt, so on the brain stack the tt is on top, then an empty regular height Fraim level, and then the 552. Below that is the ND555, and then below that on the bottom is the NAP300.
I’d move it up a shelf to hear what effect it has, mine doesn’t seem to mine the turntable above it, it may be better than a digital box directly below and will help the Burndy hang loose.
The Burndy isn’t touching the floor at least, and my dealer recommended winding the Snaic around the Burndy a couple of times to carry out what Naim recommend in writing, namely, keeping the Snaic and Burndy close together.
Sorry for intruding but are you saying that the Digital P/S lead and the Burndy cable from my 52 should be wrapped round one another to the Supercap sockets?
Steve2
The SNAIC and the Burndy should run closely parallel to one another. If that’s not possible then making a single loose loop in the SNIAC around the Burndy is fine but don’t try coiling it.
I just let mine hang but make sure nothing comes between them. I tried a turn about the Burndy but prefer without.
Hi @Naimfan
Nice set up and view, was Frasier Crane a near neighbour?
Could you give us more detail of your equipment please.
The 552 Burndy and snaic should not be wrapped round each other. They should run parallel to each other.
Gosh! What a view! Where are you?
Haven’t seen him yet - still looking in Seattle!
NDX5S2, CD5i, and NAIT5i going in the office.
Krell PhantomIII and Evolution 302e going in the theater.
NDX2, NAC202, and NAP200DR with Sopra1 and (2) REL R505 staying as the 2 channel system.
I wanted to compare all 3 as two channel before they went into their separate rooms.
