System Pics 2019

Great to see a copy of JG’s Rides Again. How’s your intro to Funk #49 on that Fender?

Honestly haven’t tried it Tony. I should give it a go now that I can get the amp up loud enough to get that sound world… Joe’s a very underrated singer too.
I guess I should post the ‘other system’ pic…

i got one of their record clamps to use with my Lenco L75 ( standard spindle ) but it would not fit at all.

apparently i had to order another model…

but they are a good make…

astounding room…

i like it…

njoi the music !

I know that is annoying but they are worth the effort. Have you taken the Lenco out of its original plinth?
I’ve had two and passed them on before I got the project finished.
The first one I put a Linn Basik arm on and whilst I was waiting for a new plinth I had it resting on four tins of soup and it sounded so good rock solid.

Before anyone asks it was Tomato Soup which sounded better than Cream of Chicken and Minestrone it was a close call with Oxtail though and it had to be Campbell’s more depth too the bass.

Just as well you can otherwise the original ‘pirate’ radio stations would never have happened!

That really IS a pretty tt. If I get the bug to move upwards from our RP-8, I should look at Clearaudio. Is setup pretty straightforward? It’s something I do like about Rega. And how about sensitivity to footfalls? Something else I like about Rega – its super lightweight design seems to render it far less susceptible, at least that’s what people say. Mine is happy just on top of Fraim

Thanks @Bart! Like the Rega, the Clearaudio is pretty much a set it and forget it turntable, although it also has VTA adjustment, and my arm has azimuth adjustment too, both which are not available on the Rega. It also has speed adjustments for 33/45/78. As for VTA, mine also has optional dynamic VTA adjustment, so I can change settings for different weight albums on-the-fly. Most people don’t bother with the azimuth adjustment. That requires extra tools to get it right.

Whether it is sensitive to footfalls compared to the Rega I can’t say. Mine sits on a wall shelf; however, when I had a Rega it was too sensitive to footfalls and also had to sit on a wall shelf. I don’t think any turntable is going to work on a floor rack/stand in my room.

Very similar to Reg in that it’s not a suspended sub-chasis that floats up and down
I am very, very pleased with mine

. Like Josquin I haven’t noted any great interference from footfalls . It’s like the upper end Pro-Ject turntables, rarely get a mention on this forum despite being damned good turntables

Also if you want to use MM they do some really high end MM cartridges

To be clear, that is not what I said. Rather, in my listening room (90 year old house with wood floors), all turntables are susceptible to footfall. I must use a wall-mounted shelf. That was equally true for the Rega I had previously (and LP12 before that) as it is for my current Clearaudio Ovation. I have never tried it on my Fraim but now I have no reason to.

At my dealer, they put Clearaudio tables on floor standing racks and I have never known them to have issues with Clearaudio tables.

I must admit to having more than a casual interest in buying one of these about a year before I got the emotion…

It gets more than one comment on it’s great value for money (lid a little costly though)

@frenchrooster nice upgrade! You just bought it??

I love the Obelisks! It would be great to hear them again.

just answered to Andrea…i would never buy that one however.
