System Pics 2019

That’s good to know may save me a few quid as my current setup sounds superb.

Congratulations Gazza. I agree with you that the 552/500 is a very special combination indeed – having gone through 250.2s, 135s and 300s. How one perceives describes and appreciates this kind of upgrade is, i guess, a very personal thing in my view.

Its probably time for Andy to come over and reset my fraims, but the system sounds good right now, so no rush…

Enjoy your new toys Gazza…!!!

You are such a lucky man. A system for me to truly aspire to! :grinning:

Beautiful system @HappyListener. Love the LP12 and the shelf gaps. What spec do you have? Looks like a radikal there.

Am an LP12 man myself, so always interested in what fellow naim owners have.

Reference 3A Dulcet on home demo, definitely need a sub with these, beautiful sounding little speaker though.

Interesting that the 555 is on top.

Very nice markah. A system to aspire to right there!:wink:

Very nice set up Gazza.

I didn’t know that Gazza is also Naim the Dragon.

Each time I see a pic of an all-black rack, it brings a tear to my eye wishing I’d gone that way instead of the “What colour do you call that? …Cherry !” route. Yours is looking good Massingham.

Hi

I think the British sounding speakers was your thread ?

Just curious to ask why not the De Capo model ? This is a bigger standmount than the Dulcet.

The Reference 3A De Capo is on my list of speakers to try ( the - i - model ) ( due to finance reasons ) .

Does the Dulcet sing well with the naim electronics ?

Request you to post a small review after about 150 hours of music or so…

regards

Yes that was my thread, I just happened to see these Dulcets sitting on the floor when I visited my local dealer yesterday, so asked if I could give them a try. The other speakers I wanted to demo are at a dealer 4 hours away from me, I am still planning on going there, probably in about 2 weeks, so I will report back after that. I would actually love to have the 3A reflector, but the whole thing about having the money to buy things popped up.

Thanks @Dan_M

It’s quite a high spec - Harban plinth (more for the aesthetics), Keel, Tranquility, EKOS SE/Dynavector TKR, fed with Radikal. I’m not a fan of the Linn house sound. Too analytical for me, and I really struggle with the notion (although I know it to be true) that a differently boxed Radikal (after all they ain’t cheap) sounds better.

I’ve heard the Stiletto plinth but the cost is too much for me. Digressing, I do wonder if a Stiletto with lesser-spec arm etc would be better given the influence the plinth and all-in-one top-plate has in terms of definition.

I read the various threads on TT’s with interest as, in a few years, a house move beckons and I may revisit the vinyl replay chain. Like many of us, this has all been a mad endeavour for me (no steak, lots of baked beans eaten along the road :grinning:).

Considering your diet, hopefully finding a new TT will be a breeze for you rather than a second wind interest!

I loved ART.

So a couple of days ago I finally installed the NAP 500 into the system in place of the 300. This involved a full strip down of the system and Fraim which turned out to be a great opportunity to give everything a well needed clean and dust!! Medium legs fitted and now made use of a couple of the spare standard Fraim shelves I had. This has also meant that the cable dressing has vastly improved with virtually nothing touching and the Super Lumina interconnect hanging freely whereas before I couldn’t prevent it touching the floor. I’ve hardly had a chance for a proper listen yet although have had a CD on repeat to get everything warmed up nicely since installation. Today’s the day I get a decent chance to put my feet up and enjoy!!

Just realised Mark that those 2 empty shelves are ready for that ND555…
