System Pics 2019

i wonder why « systems pics 2019 » don’t appear in the « latest « or « unread « topics. Is it a bug?

It’s right at the top of the list for me.

I did say they are expensive. I think they are made of bronze with various layers of bamboo and stuff inside. I believe the three Qplus “interfaces” in the Quadraspire range are intended to approximate the performance of their three racks: Q4, Sunoko-Vent and Reference. I have two stacks of Sunoko-Vent with bronze spikes and bamboo for the top two shelves, on which used to sit my 552 and its PSU. When I got a CD555 my 552 head unit had to move down a shelf. I didn’t want to lose performance so my dealer tried the QPlus Ref under the 552 on the second shelf and it sounded just as good as when it was on the bronze spike supported bamboo SVT previously. Given the cost of the 552 I concluded £900 wasn’t disproportionate to ensure it continued to perform at its optimum.

Curiosity then got the better of me as I then tried a set under my 300 and its PSU (best under the PSU, good under the head unit; still better with both). Then I tried another set under my 555PSDR feeding the CD555. That was the biggest performance lift of the lot. Yes, £900 a set is a lot but my ears told me the performance lift was worth it.

My dealer tells me the QPlus Ref also delivers a very noticeable performance uplift if they are used under black box sitting on a full-fat Fraim!

Too soft - try hamster!

So that the thread doesn’t get too diverted away from its subject (pictures of systems), I suggest that if members wish to pursue a different conversation regarding isolation shelves and feet, then please do so on a new thread. Thank you.

Opps thank you. I will Photoshop it and repost.

Thank you for your reply Frenchrooster, good the year. I would live to try an 868, sadly a 912 is out of my reach cost wise.

the 868/ naim amps work very well too. Mr Underhill had that. I wonder where is Mr Underhill?

Yes I have been led to understand that the 912 and the 868 do share some parts of their design, hopfully the ability to match and drive Naim power amps is one of them!

It is interesting about Mr Underhill and at least one other who seemingly have chosen to take the change of forum site as an opportunity to take a break from Naim forum life. I expect it would do me some good to do the same , at least for a while!

Thanks again, the forum is a great collection of knowledge, but it can be difficult to find information on other kit here, (I kind of expect this), but especially where mix and matching brands is concerned, so your feed back is extremely valuable.

i sold my p10 and traded for a demo rp8, for a good deal. I kept my rega rigid feets.
Perhaps later, if rega produce a new rega p10 with the appearance of the new planar 8, i will probably be tempted.
However i am listening to lps maybe 2 days per month…but still great moments.

when you click on « Top » , it appears. But not on latest or unread topics. For me at least.

As a Stillpoints buyer I have to endorse your choice! If your ears tell you the product gives you the auditory improvement, then it’s a simple economic choice. The £1,800 I spent was so worth the result, for me it was a no brainer! Unicorn ear wax? Let them eat cake!

Hi Frenchrooster

Interesting move - but I’m sure that you had your reasons.

Personally, I found the RP10 to be much better than the RP8 … but the new Planar 8 is probably closing the gap.

Glad you are enjoying the RP8 just as much as your previous decks. :grinning:

the p10 is not so groovy. Better on most areas, but not night and day.
I improved other areas also with the cash gotten.
The problem is that i want to discover always new albums and artists, so i listen much more to my nds…

Good for you - enjoy what you have

Where is the old devil hiding?

Well if that’s the case you got no chance to listen at £1700 albums.

Thomas, that is one beautiful house and the Nova fits so perfectly with the surroundings. :+1:
