System Pics 2020

Thank you, Yetizone!
When I first saw the speaker It seemed like a life-style-joke. But it really is not. The designer is a very serious and well-known hifi-designer.

Thank you, Dr Mark!
:v:

I know at least one person who sold on his 552 for the 912.

Yes, the 912 is particularly good. But with a nap 500dr, I don’t know if it will be better than 552. Not tested however.

Very fair, he was using 509s on reflection. These 1st world problems!

Here goes. Over 30 years ago I lucked into a used Naim 32/SNAPS/250 and since then have patiently and slowly changed the system as technology, discretionary income and the appearance of the right used gear allowed. I have now arrived at a server based system: Innuos Zen 2 server, NDS/555, 252/non-Naim PSU, non-DR NAP 500, Spendor SP100s on Skylan stands.

Good Morning All,

The system at Courtiestown has now expanded to incorporate my ‘extra’, unserviced NAP250 to give me a ‘four pack’.

I added my own remaining Quadraspire shelf to the stack and moved both Supercaps up one level.

That’s the treble channel split now and it certainly sounded pretty good yesterday evening.

A pair of serviced NAP135’s should be arriving from ClassA this next week so I’ll be able to go to a ‘six pack’ of sorts…

Regards

Richard

Love the Creek tuner

Hi Everybody,

The music has a new home in the Atacama Evoque 60/40. Lovely well built rack housing Naim Nap 200 DR, Chord Hugo TT DAC & Preamp, Sonore UltraRendu all playing to a pair of PMC Twenty 24’s. Sounds lovely

You have a sharp eye! The Creek tuner is the only piece that remains from my original step into specialist audio gear. It served us well over the years, although I don’t listen to over the air broadcasts much anymore. The CBC in Canada doesn’t offer nearly the range of high quality broadcasts as are available on the BBC.

Just before the lock down my Man Cave was completed. Speaker cables routed under the solid concrete floor, block built walls, FM aerial on the chimney, separate mains circuits for HiFi and non-HiFi; still some soft furnishings required to dampen the sound (in storage so not accessible at the moment) but it all sounds rather good.

Welcome to the Forum Bartman. Your man cave is impressive and so is your system. Enjoy!

Very cosy hideout, Bartman. Nice pair of Billinghams there. Are those 335’s?

This is what happens when one doesn’t read and follow @Richard.Dane’s Fraim playbook. Naim should just print and pack it by default.

Thank you Tony - a 445 and a 555 although I’m ashamed to say I have a 225 and a 335 as well!

Thank you RackKit. Despite pressure from Mrs B I wanted it to look slightly functional.

Good Morning All,

After some head scratching about stacking my system when the NAP135’s arrive I’ve temporarily taken the Karik/ Numerik out of the system and re-allocated it’s shelf to the power stack.

That’s everything moved up another shelf now and I have the two empty shelves at the bottom ready and waiting…

I’ve also been re-labelling the various leads/ speaker cables to reflect going the six pack route.

Regards

Richard
