Yep, she accepted my HiFi and I accepted her cats, then her horses, then her rabbits, then …well, you get the picture!
Finally, here are a couple of pics
. . . There is a dedicated mains spur to the listening room. The speaker and network cables run under the floor void. Below, I have a separate amp and speakers in my basement work studio.
Thanks Dave. What about bees wax? Any views?
The balance knob isn’t at approx centre?
Nice system by the way…nice room
@artist
Unusual rack (and lovely room!) - are they suspended shelves (the loops at each corner)?
Yes well spotted steviebee, each shelf is suspended on a tensioned cord. They can be moved up or down depending on the space required.
So many possible responses…
A problem many of us have as we age.
I’ve had a couple of updates over the last year. Upgraded the Linn Axis to a Rega P8 and also mounted on the wall which much better for keeping out of reach from little ones. I also got some Allaes at the start of last year which I was running active, but then a cheap pair of NBLs came up, so had to grab them, I have a Snaxo for DBLs in the wings which I think is compatible with NBLs, but running passive at the minute , they are an amazing speaker, just need another 250 to take the NBLs active and I think I’ll be done. I have everything sitting on some glass shelves in anticipation of putting in @Xanthe 's isolation ideas from her thread, just waiting on the brass to arrive.
CD player doesn’t get much use these days with Roon so easy to use, but the lights are cool on it , and it makes up for the fact that the screen on the ND5 XS have gone.
The NBLs were supposed to come with grilles, but they are lost, a bit of a pain with a 2 year old running around, I might need to make my own since I do t think they are available anymore.
Two Hicaps currently run the recently recapped 82 , phono boards from Ryan Sound Labs. We listen to a good few albums everyday at the moment , it’s quite an experience to do an upgrade then rediscover all your music again!

Wonderful, how are you using Roon with the ND5XS?
Hi @simon.pepper I use the LMS plugin in Linux to join them together.
Are you using the sonare bridge?
As I tell the young guys at my gym, everything gets harder when you get old…except for one thing.
A rack by Something Solid?
Love your painting on the left hand side.
No Linn Sondek. I think he took it back and bought an NDX instead.
And I thought I was cramping NBLs
This is an old photo but the speakers haven’t moved, nor the racks, though the contents have changed a little. It’s amazing what they’ll put up with, does the felt on the wall help?
Hi Alex, Yes that’s the one, Something Solid
