I’ve not assessed anything critically as the phono stage isn’t properly supported and one of my ears has stopped working… Initial impressions within those constraints is that it is really, really good. The P6, Ania and Fono MC seems a very good combination for a price that isn’t silly.
How does it sound through the 272s analog input. I’ve been looking at reel to reels but they’re so fussy and tapes are too expensive, dam looks like I might follow your lead.
this is my favourite thread so i thought i’d contribute with my
modest but so much more than i deserve system
supernait, rega6 with upgrades, hicap DRs, forests and
a taste of 3500 records (that… i’m pretty proud of)
I wouldn’t call that modest at all. There’s a few here that’ll envy your reel to reel.
Your systems change a bit since I was last on the forum Nigel. I remember you saying you’d never go back to vinyl . That’s when you had the Superuniti and PMC I think.
Great system @yankfish. Very impressive collection of vinyl and the wall mounted reel to reel is so cool.
Cheers, Rack.
Gosh, that was a while ago. In two months time I will have had my 272 for five years. The vinyl is just a bit of fun really. We had a Planar 1 which is great but nowhere near the 272 streamer whereas the 6 is a better match but not silly money.
Neither would I call it modest , love the vintage Technics tuner .
Very underestimated bits of equipment
Me too!
I have a NAT 03 and that is getting a real outing during the Lockdown .
Thank you Radio 3
Outstanding collection of hifi, especially the tuner, and old and new mixed together. I agree with Rack, mounting the reel to reel on the wall like that is a master-stroke!! Looks great.
That is a sweet looking room. I’m guessing it’s in Denmark😊
Anyone with a copy of FZ’s Thing-Fish in his collection has all my respect!
Probably just a “rookie mistake.” Check the cables . . . starting from the distal end.
I’m telling you - that’s how it started for us. But for us there had been no vinyl replay in either of our lives for 30 ish years. So perhaps some ‘pent-up demand.’
I’ll be interested to hear in a month’s time whether your vinyl replay has increased with the P6 at home.
you’re not wrong
just kinda inherited it, got it fixed up and it sounds really great
couple 3 dollar brackets and wall anchors
didn’t think it would hold
Just looks like it’s always belonged there.
Good work.
