Yes I got few responses to having my electronics between my speakers.

Some people don’t consider the constraints of real world listening room geometry and the need to compromise. If it works for you, then it works.

That looks like a mint example.

Is that why it has a green LED rather than a red one?

It would originally have been red, but LEDs were regularly switched from red to green (although not many from green to red) in order to update the aesthetics to match other later kit.

Richard, it was bought new in 1987 and definitely originally had the green LED. It wasn’t a converted 42 but was supplied new as .5 dual rail.

Ah, Ok thanks Mr.T. Yes, my mistake, you’re correct, the very last 42.5s would have been green.

Thanks - It has been a horrible year with losing my father on the 2nd, and I just come to the forum for a little relief, and get scolded for commenting on someone’s photo.

An update. Have had the 282 playing since yesterday. The combo 282/250DR is, without overstating it, very good. I’m truly enjoying the music and this step up now makes me want to enjoy music I like that didn’t do it for me through the 202/200DR. Funny thing is I really likedthe former combo but this one is another story. Quite a big uplift in just about every way (so far). From the get go I wasn’t convinced since I compared to the 82 but given some time things have changed. I’ll try the 82 again when I’ve gotten used to this one and see what happens.

I think those old CB “shoeboxes” look so cool. That one looks dead mint.

Sorry for your loss, this should be a very gentle forum, with comments on hifi, food, wine , music .

It didn’t look mint when my son dropped it off!

Luckily it just needed a good clean up as it was free from scratches and dings. A combination of Mr Muscle kitchen cleaner (outer sleeve only and remove it first) then finish by applying Autoglym vinyl care (all surfaces) - buffing very gently on the facia and knobs, heavily on the outer sleeve.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear about that,. My most sincere sympathies for your loss

Drinking English breakfast tea and listening to The Band on a Friday night here in Berlin.
I am Norwegian and a fanatic coffee drinker so I have no idea if I am breaking any tea etiquette by drinking breakfast tea in the evening. It sure tastes good! Upgraded from 300DR to non-DR500 8 days ago. Lovin’ it! Not so much loving the thought of the inevitable DR upgrade and the costs involved, but I try not to think too much about it.

As long as you stick your little finger out (on the hand round the cup handle) you will be okay.

That not English Breakfast tea, there’s no milk in it!
