@bongoman what’s your thoughts now you have had a few days to evaluate things having had the Fraim setup?
All still sounding fab and I’m glad I took the plunge on the Fraim. The SQ has lost the edge slightly compared to a couple of days ago. I know there’s some appliances in the house that cause the 300DR to hum slightly (dishwasher currently on) which could be the cause. I’ll look into getting an isolated circuit for the system.
32amp type C is what Naim recommended to me. Well worth it, great improvement!
Well, listening to the second system more than I had expected too with WFH the new default. But the KEF LSX are excellent, I cannot recommend enough.
Very nice!
Birthday present update to system - Fraim from my wife. Fraim assembled by expert hands, and got SBL’s fettled at the same time. Very happy boy!!
Rather nice birthday boy👍
Are you driving the KEFs from the laptop?
What was done to the SBLs?
Mid/bass driver torqued up, given a good look over to make sure the wool packing was in good condition and the mass damper was still in position. Then re-sealed, levelled, and set up correctly. All done by Peter Swain of Cymbiosis. I would have been totally flummoxed having never seen it done before, so I am exceptionally grateful to him.
Spare shelves tho Graeme, that could get expensive!?
Similar thought here — plans to go active?!
Happy Birthday! That’s a lovely present and a great looking system.
There is lots of help online, but it is undoubtedly more relaxing watching someone else do it!
They are great speakers and worth the effort. I had all my drivers renewed a few months ago and had the joy of watching my dealer do all the work; and then the ‘pleasure’ of paying for it.
