He is dreaming of 135’s
Spot on!
First impressions: bass is tighter and more tuneful making it easier to follow. Note decay is much longer and much more satisfying/sweeter. Instrument separation is more pronounced. I can now pick any of the instrument being played and follow it with ease whereas before they were a bit muddled together. There seems to be an increased cohesiveness to the music, sorry I can’t put my finger on that one, the music just makes more sense.
What did you have before Fraim?
An optimum 2000 av rack. See post 2 of this thread.
Blimey – that’s 3,800 posts ago.
I’ll take a look. And thanks for the reply.
Grab the total posts number on the right and drag it up to get there quickly.
That’s what I just did. The fact that it’s post #2 makes it painless. I’ve gotta say, the Fraim certainly looks nicer, although my wife disagrees.
And the new carpet and wallpaper too…
As a Celt, I was partial to the green.
We inherited the wallpaper and carpet when we bought the house. 8 years on and I’m happy to see it gone.
My new SN3 and NDX 2, really nice 2 box setup (along with my CDX2 and US) - really enjoying hearing it come up to speed - been about a week and a half now - really fantastic uplift from my SuperUniti.
Finally trying to post a pic of one of my systems. In this case arrangement is not final as the NAP250DR is only in the system until the NAP300DR comes back from service. Same goes for the Oracle Delphi II turntable, in the system until the LP12 comes back from servicing
The left rack is (top to bottom) CDS3/252/NAT05/DAC/NDX/HDX/Empty (where the NAP300 will go). Right rack is (top to bottom) Oracle Delphi II with McCormick PS (on floor), SME 309 Series V, Linn Karma/Superline, STAX Headphone preamp (for 3170 earspeakers)/TeddyXPS (for NDX), XPS2 (for CDS3)/SuperCapDR (for 252)/XPS (for HDX)/NAP250DR (placeholder for 300PS). All interconnects are Hi-line with a a SuperLumina for the DAC to Preamp. Speakers are SBLs (currently in passive mode as can go active with a naxo2-4 and HCDR) with SuperLumina cables. Quadraspire racks with all components on either heavy Fraim-like leaded glass or heavy isolation metal plates on high density ball bearings in grommet cups. Contemplating replacing the NAT05 with a NAT01/NATPS combo that is not in use at present.
Mainly airplay from iPad.
Those Dynaudios look badass.
Beautiful
You’ve got me thinking!
Very nice, and enjoyable to listen to I am sure.
Ah, simpler times before upgraditis that started in 2008 for me. Only my bookshelves were dynaudio, and I had a project turntable hooked up to my first kit.
Then came the supernait
Then the LP12
Then the floorstanders
And so on and so on.
Just enjoy the music. Whether it’s a simple or complex system. We’re all having fun.
Scott
Thank you Scott, I’m really enjoy listening them - I has also fallen into upgrade trap, this is my second system setup at my hometown where I stay on weekends.
Strongly agree with you - just enjoy the musics
