System Pics 2020

I know isolation, positioning and set up are terrible but it sounds pretty good from here.

What happened to the NHS tea trolley Bob. I liked that!

Do you have two systems now or am I getting confused?

Hi Nigel
No this one is in Spain replacing the NHS trolley is a 99 Euro IKEA Media cabinet thingy.

The NHS trolley is still reigning supreme back in England though!

I’m with you on the IKEA shelving part. I have my Muso 1 on a $60 Kallax, it is a perfect fit on top for it. With sorbathane feet under the Muso and some books on the shelves below, it made a nice SQ improvement.

I have Sorbathane domes under the speakers a very cheap worthwhile tweak.

Don’t tell the Fraim Police people…

Love the D2’s! Your speakers and system looks sweet…

I had a pair with the dome vs the ribbons and loved them.

Thanks @seakayaker! Just don’t talk about a XPS-DR or any other power supply! I don’t want to be tempted ‘yet’.

I see you are a forward planning person — you already got yourself the Fraim shelf for 500DR…

Once I can return to my London office I might well try to get in contact.

Covid permitting … wfh until 2021 at least!

Just wait until you are married — that increases the exit costs, and you might get away with it. Sociology of Marriage for runaways…

My D2s were my fave speaker I ever had. Like Seakayaker I had the domes. My current room was just a bit too large because of my open floor plan. Even tried the ProAc subwoofer even but I could never get it dialed in; what sounded good for classical wasn’t enough for rock, and when it sounded good for rock it was too boomy for classical. And I just felt the timing wasn’t there for me.

If I were to go to a smaller room again, I would definitely consider another pair as my “forever speakers”.

Really like your stands too.

Thanks @DrMark. I love them so far. I’ve got to admit the D30Rs like @seakayaker’s could possibly work in my room, but for now I’m a very happy user. These are my compromise speakers(budget etc).

Lovely system. I hope you don’t mind my asking, where did you refurbish your Allaes and what needed doing to them?
