Speakers look amazing !
Thanks guys⌠sound pretty darn good too.
Thanks Jonas. Iâll investigate Sonority. BTW, the rumour I heard about Fraim was that Naim would have used aluminium instead of glass if the cost hadnât been so high.
Nice speakersâŚlook top notchđ
Stunning speakers, is the stand made from the same wood?
I love the woodgrain on those speakers. They seem to melt into the room.
Superb carpentry work. Well done!
Stunning speakers and gorgeous wood grain. That must have a been a great delight to make.
They are made from MDF and veneered in real Tasmanian black heart Sassafras. Quite a rare wood. The dark grain is from a fungus. The stand is made from ash. Yeah it is definitely very rewarding. Thanks for the kind comments!
Have you oiled them? Is it a hard wood, it looks lovely.
I think it is classed as a hard wood. They arenât oiled, i used a matte polyurethane sealer as it doesnât discolour and the matte makes it easy to get an even finish. Also i hope that it locks up the surface and prevents issues like cracking and peeling over time. Real wood veneer can have issues if it is subject to expensing and contraction from humidity etc. It was literally slices straight off a log.
Did you make the veneer yourself? They look incredible
No i got it from a guy in Tasmania. There isnât much of it around i am pretty sure most of the trees are protected now. You can find it but its expensive. 8 sheets of it cost me the equivalent of 250 GBP.
Like wowâŚyou make some uk speaker manufacturers look amateur.
âŚwell, they look like âthey mean businessâ.
I was scared ⌠it looked like a bomb.
I bet it sounds like âda bomb!â
What are those speakers?
