System Pics 2020

You might live to regret that

I tend to sit in the ‘hot seat’, unless my daughter’s feeling punchy and gets there first. Then I get told what I can do with my hot seat. With a smile.

Great looking space. Those Focals certainly look impressive.

Is this you?

Personally, when listening to music or watching TV I’ll sit wherever the hell I want. I expect my system to be able to cope with that.

My wife is quite enthusiastic regarding the system, has a great ear and loves music but she gets bored just sitting and listening. We are lucky to have space behind “the chair” and she loves to dance. The sound in the rest of the room is actually pretty spectacular, perhaps losing some nuance but its very musical and enjoyable.

Hi @Stover

I’m planing to buy and configured Naim frame in the same way as you.
What are the dimensions (H x W x D) based on your configuration ?

Kacper

Nothing more soul lifting than dancing to good music. Providing the music fills the room, what more could you want- perhaps you could join her and take lessons if required . Strictly come Naim

That Fraim will be H 43cm, W 65cm, D 45cm (x2), plus space behind to accommodate the cables.

Hi Kacper
For one tower: Hight 46cm, width 64cm and depth 44cm. Shelf hight (free space) 10,5cm.

Even at this quality level the components benefit (soundwise) from beeing kept away from each other. I assume I will upgrade again at some point and will keep the Fraim.

Thanks! I will try to buy at the beginning of next year. I prefer configuration as yours - two next to each other.

Careful speaker positioning to eliminate the sweetspot using Sumiko Masterset (not a product but a setup method), do a search. Even someone then insisting on putting a telly between them doesn’t break the illusion though it does have an impact.
I’ve achieved this in two rooms but with the same speakers, Thiel cs1.6. Later replacing them in the first room with NBLs made it unusable and I never got the full width of the sofa to share the same central image, though the middle and my end did when I used the lateral positions from the Thiels for the NBLs. This may have been because of the record rack I had to move to next to the other end of the sofa to make space for an NBL against the wall. But NBLs are difficult to move so it may have been possible with a bit more tweaking.
I shall have the chance to compare them in the second, larger room in a couple of weeks, if they survive the move.

Is the build quality that variable then? I just rechecked and mine is 43cm from floor to the top surface of the 3rd layer. Width even allowing for the radius is 65. Depth accuracy is irrelevant with the cables all needing to fit in there with space & freedom.

Mine is put on Fraim chips and spikes are adjustable. Further, my measure is not exact, so bare over me :grinning:

A few pictures of my new vinyl set up the Planar 6 I’ve posted before but the VMN50SH
stylus and Trichord Dino/Dino+ are new editions and are sounding fantastic

Simplicity itself. The Atom is great sounding with the Focal Aria 906s. Streaming Tidal Masters sound wonderful. Speakers about 2m apart and connected with a cheeky length of Tchernov Classic.

Very neat. I picked up my Atom yesterday to replace and ageing UnitiLite. Wonderful piece of equipment and really simple to set up. Enjoy yours!
