That one rather odd indeed, it’s to connect the 552 and ND555 so that the streamer remote / app can be used for volume, and that cable has 2 RCA plugs at one end while just one is being used. But no, that wasn’t the one…
Nope!
Naim logo not lit.
Nait2, SL2s, Qutest, Node 2i
Experimenting at the moment but I’m very happy with the results, the Nait2 is rather special.
Indeed it is.
What are you feeding the qutest with?
Node 2i its a remarkable little box and a lift from the UQ2 feeding the Qutest.
Balance light on but others off.
Interesting, I’m using my UQ2 to feed my CB Nait2 and it does sound pretty good, although I’m under no illusions that this as a source is compromised. Can the Bluesound Node 2i stream locally stored files via UPnP?
Try the 272 instead of the node2, I am telling you(again), it blows away the UQ2 when used as a digital source
You can, just point the BluOS to the UNC path of the stored music library i.e.
\nasname\music (two back slashes at the front the post is dropping one of them)
The BluOS then indexes the content.
I took your comments onboard on the Nait2+Qutest thread but there’s not enough room on the cupboard top without stacking.
The Node is doing an excellent job but I’m experimenting at the moment and its alot of fun too.
Ok, I get it, but just set it up temporarily on the floor or something…just to see. I am actually curious myself, because I am considering a Node2 myself, into my Mscaler/TT2 until I can afford something better, like a DCS bridge or something similar (G1).
Ah, so it will play locally stored files - wasn’t sure. UNC? I take that’s a typo - UPnP?
UNC is a network path BluOS doesn’t require Asset, Minimserver etc
Ah, got it, many thanks. So is the Node a keeper over the UQ2, or possibly an alternative Naim streamer?
That must be it, would a power cycle cure it?
I don’t think he’s referring to the adders in amongst his Snaics and Burndys.
The Naim logo goes off when the ND is on standby.
I’m demoing the dCS Bridge right now, with a Matrix Audio DAC. It blew the Auralic G2.1, clean out of the water! So impressed with dCS, I’ve ordered the Bartok!
Good to hear that, I think Bluesfan compared it to the G2 also, and preferred the DCS. I think I will stick with my Chord combo though for a DAC, no way I can afford a Bartok any time soon, but maybe the bridge sometime next year.
Here in Canada, the Bartok is $19,500 dollars, while the bridge is only
$6,200.
Yes @Ardbeg10y you have got it correct !
Indeed there is no reason for the 552 balance knob light to be on by itself. My unit has a display board defect and I’m expecting a new 552 unit coming in very soon to replace it.
Congrats for finding out, it wasn’t that obvious
Great that you have been able to hear for yourself and make an informed decision. Enjoy the Bartok when it arrives!
Best, BF
