Apologies not accepted. You’ve done nothing wrong except to express an opinion!:sunglasses:

Thank you for that, it’s appreciated. There’s a bit of a back story here - there’s nothing wrong with a little diversion and let’s face it, they can be more interesting than the hifi pictures themselves. My concern over the advert post is that it potentially opens to door to some who have a tendency to then flood the thread with rubbish - in this case it would be dozens of hifi adverts with errors scraped up from the lower reaches of the internet. It’s happened many times before. That’s why my response was snippier than perhaps it might have been. It’s a bit of a vicious cycle and if everyone stayed in the spirit of the thread there would be no need for any guidance and it would be entirely self moderating, which is the best thing all round. What I often want to say is ‘for f… sake stop posting bloody crap’. Maybe that would be more effective, who knows. And really, who cares. Everything is dumbing down these days and if people would rather the the thread be full of rubbish then that’s their choice. Let’s see what the new thread starter brings to the table next year.

Must be getting close to Christmas we’re all starting to get a little emotional (which is a good thing). I can only reaffirm what others have said earlier generally all forum members are well behaved and respectful. Think we’ll all be glad to see the back of this year.

I have never heard of those speakers before Mr Tibbs, and I can not find much info on them using Google. They look an awful lot like my Peak Consult Incognito’s, are you aware of any connection between the two companies?

A pair of Nait 2s ought to help get the thread back on track

My ticket tree has emerged from the attic! This guy has some excellent memories that started back to the ‘80s, and then went rampant. I not ashamed to admit I became obsessed with traveling for live music at an early age, and have gotten obsessive over some bands. My very first concert I took a BoomBox and recorded the concert onto cassette tape…I was 11. Great times though :wine_glass: Happy Holidays everyone!

Here is the garage system. The receiver, speakers and Phillips turntable are from the 70’s.

That’s one righteous 70s system! The kind I would have dreamed to own in my teen years!

The CB Nait 2 is my most coveted piece of Naim gear - would love to run my second system off one of those.

Green and chrome sexiness!

Never seen the old naits at close quarters before. I presume the power dial is for powering on/off from the front console, what is the normal dial?? :hushed:

It’s for mute, tape monitor, and then normal, for normal listening.

Thanks HH, never seen or heard the old naits or any of the CB or olive series in the flesh.

Crikey - the resemblance is striking!

No connection though, as the Ergo 3s are the third in a range of designs by a clever chap called James from NZ who used to frequent the Naim forum. Back in 2008 (ish) he had a thread documenting his E-3 build and I asked if he would allow me to make a pair for my own use. They have a 2 layer sealed box construction consisting of mdf inner carcass and solid hardwood outer skin. The bass is handled by a 10” Scan Speak. The mid by a 5” Seas (of which I’ve got both the standard and Excel versions). The tweeter is Hiquphon OW1.

How about renaming the thread to make the intent clearer. A couple of examples;

That’s a nice idea, particularly the first one. I wonder what @Richard.Dane thinks about it.

Great idea. However, it’s up to you all, so…

Well I think it’s only right that the outgoing president has the final say. Over to you HH …
