System Pics 2020

Ok, last tweak of the year (brave last words), Rega now has new boots, Firm Funk Boings in place, Seismic Sink now keeping Neo and Yam streamer off the floor.

New Exact in place of the Ely’s 2, the Planar 3 is now approaching the Rp6 level, albeit still spoilt by the Aria, which I have found is sensitive to power noise. Spent an age swapping all power connections round when the Husky fridge was found to be the culprit.

Now sounding pretty epic, also still amazed how good the phono stage in the SN3 is in the main system whilst the Aria is on loan in the cabin.

Yes they’re DIY. I guess some aspects of James’ designs may have been influenced by commercial products, but he is a perfectionist and was always striving to ‘build the perfect mousetrap’, as he would often have said at the time.

Enjoy :tumbler_glass:
I hope you also have plans for basic acoustic treatment in space.

A couple of machine gun emplacements and a smattering of anti personnel mines and you should be good to go

Thank you . I do but it isn’t as bad as I expected.

You missed the barbed wire and the spike pit *

  • ( something I usually keep for Trick Or Treaters - along with the arsenic toffee apples :green_apple:)

Finally got down to the one box on display scenario I’ve always wanted.

Very nice - the Nova is a good looking piece of kit.

Not only is it a looker but it’s audio performance is very sound!
The absence of cables is another bonus.

Nice cast of your head too!

That’s not my head! It’s Heisenburg aka Brian Cranston from “Breaking Bad”, given to me as a gift from a sculptor mate. I was a big fan of the series at the time and he enjoys sculpting, so as a birthday gift it seemed appropriate at the time.
Brian makes an excellent headphone stand for my Meze 99 Classics.

No cassette tape deck?

Have leant my brother my Nait2 system. We have hooked up his Beogram 4002 and it sounds quite good.

OK, Hugh, stop teasing us - please give details of all that kit, including the age of each piece!
