That just looks so homely and cosy! ATB Peter
PS. Dare one say that the chair prodding out between and in front of the speakers possibly isnāt ideal from a sonic point of view, but hey 10/10 for pure aestheticsšš¼
Thanks @dknk! Iām really enjoying it, I maybe a little way behind you but I do have an external power supply for the NDX on order and on its way now, fingers crossed it will be here in the next few days (a similar route that you took originally by reading through your posts). That will be the first upgrade for me. I think the phono stage will be next followed by an external power supply for the SN2 when finances allow.
Looks lovely!
We have very similar systems
This is an image of a Lee Moyer Pacific Water Sports 17.5 foot āThunderbirdā seakayak
Disclaimer: This photo is not my kayak. My Thunderbird is all white and the only photos I have of mine are on film.
I picked up my seakayak, a former rental model, in 1996 and it is still in use 23 years later.
My wife has a Pacific Water Sports āOspreyā model seakayak which she purchased new about 21 years ago.
Pacific Water Sports was a local Pacific Northwest company that went out of business in 2003 but they did make wonderful kayaks. The owner was an engineer that designed and built all the kayaks.
A day on the water brings as much piece of mind as good listening session! ā¦with a bit more exercise!
ā¦sorry everyone for the slight exclusion down memory lane, peace, love & harmony.
seakayaker! now back to System Pics 2000
Thanks to all for your lovely comments. Peter - I agree, unfortunately SWMBO does not!!!
The British Isles? What century is that from?
At the risk of going off topic, with all that that entails, I love this passionate 1996 letter in The Irish Times:
Hereās an updated pic of my system electronics. A few changes since last year. The new Playback Designs MPT-8 Transport has gone in and the ARC Ref 2 phono stage got replaced by the Constellation Audio Perseus.
The rest is unchanged:
Great room. And given me an idea of enclosing my Fraim in 18 months or so as I have a baby on the way! At the age of 46 no less! Looks really really good.
Sorry to jump in but am I right in thinking you have a fraim lite rack? Couldnāt find pics. I want to house 5 bits of kit and wanted to know height from floor to top shelf and any thoughts you have. Thanks
congratulations, plenty of planning to do then, and not just hiding the hifiā¦
:o)
Wow! Wow! Wow! Looks absolutely amazing! What a beautiful, modern listening room. Congratulations on such a wonderful design.
Awesome news, youāll be busy then, in a good way.
Itās 2nd time round as have 3 kids from previous Mrs. With new partners kids will be proud father of 6. Lol.
Congratulations Dan. Get some sleep now while you can.
Thanks Mike. All good. First scan on 14th Feb. Obviously I have to consider the protection and welfare of my beloved system first!
Thanks @Eoink. I have said to my partner that I do hard physical work and will need to sleep! Donāt want to put myself at risk! Went down like a ā¦
Iām impressed, and am in awe of your time management, we had our first when I was 44 and the second at 45, two is more than enough for me and although I wouldnāt change it for the world I donāt know where the time goes, I canāt imagine juggling family time and still finding anything spare to sit and listen to music any more than my current hour a month (or so it sometimes feelsā¦) :o)
I wish you all the best and look forward to reading how you get on with pending fatherhood, again :o)
