My wife thinks the opposite, it’s neat and tidy. Hopefully the air quality will improve soon.

Unbelievably, at 3:30 this afternoon, in Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand - some 2,000kms away, we had a smoke plume from your fires arrive in our town. You literally could smell and see the smoke. It was unreal, never seem anything like it.

I hope tomorrow isn’t too bad for you all.

I’ve never posted my system before so I hope this works. Not in the realm of a lot of the systems here, but it’s mine and to my ears sounds awesome. TT is a Thorens TD160-HD with Ortofon Black 2m. The rest is SN2, CD5x, ND5xs and Flatcap. Speakers are Spendor A6.

Happy NewYear to all.

Thank you, @TOBYJUG; I usually really spend many many hours of my time in it.

The room is very large, and the camera’s 50 mm. lens don’t give for more (yes with the wide angle, but it’s all very tiny). The roof extends to 3’80 m. high, and on the system left side there is a loft built entirely in Quebracho Colorado from the Paraná River (Argentina) wood which has a double bedroom at the top and houses the library and my working post underneath, with a large table and an all in one 32’’ screen computer connected to a Wadia 151PowerDAc mini and to a pair of Dali Menuet on Isoacoustics desktop stands (how not!). In addition, if you look at the back wall of the system, above the shelf, it is covered by EZ Acoustics acoustics panels absorbent from the high and mid-higher frequencies. These panels extend strategically at the same height throughout the room up to 8 in total. And if you keep looking, you’ll see in the TV’s shims that the paintings (up to 7 in different dimensions) also strategically decorate the room, both in the front half-up of the system and on the top loft, as well as different strategically located carpets (up to 5), several quality wooden cabinets and different wooden shelves intended to house the CDs collection.

Anyway, the bottom line is that now the sound fills the whole room in a balanced way, with a wide sweet spot at the main listening point, but balanced and quality sound at all points in the room, without reverberations or blind spots.

Cheers.

Only installed since 5 days…nap 300 dr on high current socket, nac n272 on filtered outlet., sound is good ( mayby a bit dull), butsound is still changing, so i will comment after a view weeks. The big advantage of the niagara 1200 are the two high current sockets, so never a problem in my case, i can put the 272 in the other high current socket if i like. And, big advantage, i can leave everything poweredon, even with lightning…which offen occurs here in the Pyrenees…

Hi funny to see, you put your PROAC’s K6 on a tile…The tweeters are already on a pretty high position installed so they become even higher. I mean Too high when you are sitting on a normal sofa…I also removed the fronts, more beautiful, in my opinion…

The room is quite large and tends to the bright side, which has taken me a few years to modify-neutralize based on room treatment and careful selection of speakers and proper electronics; probably for that, I don’t really miss much change in terms of the height of the tweeters, which, anyway, doesn’t reach a couple of cms anymore. In addition, the fact that, outside of current trends, the sofa is not excessively low but rather pulling to high may contribute additionally.

As for the front dust grilles, yes, you’re right, aesthetically they’re prettier without them; but the left speaker is in front of a somewhat compromised passing area, and I think that’s how it’s more protected from some possible accidental slight blow or rub.

Cheers.

Lovely Noguchi Coffee Table !
All the room is very tasteful and classy indeed.

Hi Murmur

Hopefully you’ll accept my post in response to your request for slightly less tidy setups…

Just 3 boxes here, so pretty low box count, but am really pleased with the results…

I share the house with my wife, two boys aged 5 and 6 plus a cat, and none of them share my interest in either hifi or a ship shape environment so i have given up the fight. I was demoted to the dining room as they have the run of the living room however, we have just managed to obtain planning permission to extend and give us another living room (for music) plus a bit more space for other things

When not listening to music, the kids, the cat or my good lady wife, instead of constant tidying, i will be found in the garage brewing beer on my soon to be expanded home brewery

I may post more about this secondary hobby at some point in the future (in the padded cell obviously)

Happy listening!

Looks good, I’m thinking of trading my x38’s. You happy with the c30’s?

I absolutely love the c30s, now for the first 30 minutes they were hooked up I honestly was like I hope I didn’t make a mistake. They were flat and lifeless.
But after the first 30 minutes they start to open up and just keep getting better. They take a long time to run in. And have a few times were the sound changes. But after about 200 hours they seem to stabilize and are just incredible.
My dealer said they take about 350 hours to fully run in.
They have such a smooth balanced sound it’s just so addictive to listen to that you don’t want to turn the system off!

Dynaudios take a long time to run in and stabilize. My Confidence C2 – with 4 Esotar2 tweeters – took about 500-600 hrs to really settle in.
