Thanks Clive, doesn’t matter what the colour SL2s sound sublime and a joy to listen too.
Took me ages to find a pair but pleased I held out, keepers for sure.

The mountain has got higher, and I have ordered some scaffolding in order to reach the Sondek.
Additions last year are nDAC, Stageline+Hicap and Allo USBridgeSig+DigiOneSig+Shanti Streamer (DC1 I/C to nDAC).
This year’s plan is to move the cupboard and bring the mountain down to two more manageable heights
Lovely olive setup but joking aside with the scaffolding comment how do you reach the Sondek must be 6ft high.
Pretty much, the shelf it sits on is about 5’ 8”, so the platter is about 6’!
I can just about reach to put on an LP - but very carefully! The real problem is that I sometimes forget to take the LP off - I have put away empty record sleeves
It started off as “a small system for the office” and has got out of hand. The Sondek was originally in the Linn triamp Briks system that is now in the conservatory.
The pillars surrounding the Sondek are for the “roof”, aka a nice sitting spot for the kitties…
Blimey — that is indeed rather high. I certainly would be restricted to digital sources…
@HiFiman,…Hi,.if I can come up with a small proposal that can improve soundquality.
Screw in your spike’s on your SL2,.and also on your Allae,so that they become as short as possible.
In most cases,.this tends to improve soundquality.
Also be sure to place your Linn Skeet,.so your Linn Skeet is in the middle of the floor-board.
Hope you understand what I mean by this.
Because it looks like your front Linn Skeet,.on your Naim Fraim,is almost standing on the joint between two floor-boards.
Put your Naim Fraim a few centimeters ahead or backward,.so that your Linn Skeet stands in the middle of this floor-board.
It can also contribute to better soundquality.
And finally,.borrow Naim Chips from your retailer and try under your speakers, and also under your Naim Fraim-rack.
They provide better soundquality than Linn Skeet.
You should hear this clearly,.even during your Naim Fraim-rack.
As there are only three there,.so it is easier to first test there.

No hi fi changes planned as it sounds bloomin lovely.
Farthings Cat ---- Beautiful room and set up. Could I beg you to just try a set of Isoacoustic Gaias under your Focals?
Thanks for taking the time to post.
The flooring is laminate so the groves wont make much difference. Also the spikes on SL2s need to be this length due to the floor I.e. it’s a few mm higher at the back of the speaker but please note the SL2 is level and took ages to get right.
Regarding fraim chips this is something I will do when my new fraim level arrives.
Cheers
Great system, aside from the height, are they cheap standard extensions sockets you have everything plugged into?
Thanks Neil, I’ll investigate your recommendation re Isoacoustic Gaias, never heard of them before.
I am about to move to a house that has carpeted floors so a whole new room to work out, would the Isoacoustic Gaias be appropriate with a carpeted floor?
Cheers
They are designed for solid floors, but they make a spiked “seat” that the isolators sit on. The spikes go through the carpet to the floor beneath.ive not tried tg ese as I have a solid wood floor.
To my ears, the Gaias bought a world if difference to my speakers. There is plenty of stuff on YouTube about them and to be honest I was sceptical, but took the plunge. No regrets. They are 200 pound for four.
Cheers Nigel, yes the reviews look favourable, appreciate your recommendation.
Prob wait until I move as it’s undecided if carpet will stay!
Cheers
Gary
Neil.
Regards…
Er… Neil
Lovely system! I’m glad to hear you’re going to split up that tower; I would be worried that it could pose a hazard. If keeping it like that I would seriously consider strapping it to the wall so that it cannot fall over, either on its own or if somehow pulled over!
@HiFiman,…Interesting ,.if you also try this on your SL2,then you can have your Spike’s shorter.
This is because Naim Chips have a completely different design.
But laminate floors also have cormorants between the floor-boards.
How important this placement was for soundquality,.I discovered the first time 1987,with an LP12 at the top of a hi-fi rack.
With an LP12 at the top of the rack,.the difference was dramatically large, when I changed the floor placement as I described earlier.

So many fabulous systems in these pics, certainly a nice start to 2020!
Hi Farthings-cat,
The ART speakers in post no. 86 of this thread are sitting on Isoacoustic Gaia feet, on carpet.
A forum search for a thread called “Isolation” will provide a lot more background for you.
Best regards, BF
