I did look on the website - and came to the conclusion that they don’t make them anymore. Couldn’t see it anywhere
I had mine this week so they are still very much out there
I am somewhat reluctant to post as I realise that I am very privileged and fortunate, but in the spirit of shared experience- here goes.
My local Naim dealer introduced me to Kudos about 10 years ago. I bought some Titan 88s to go with the 552/500/ CD555 combination then in use.
After various iterations of Naim streamers, I ended up with the ND555 and 2 555PS. All sounded great and I was well pleased. Music experts ( ie professionals) told me it sounded outstanding. Smug grin.
But, recently A & A dangled the Statement and 808 carrots.
Their ex dem Statement pre amp came first replacing my 552 which I had always regarded as one of Naim’s masterpieces. Result, utterly spellbinding.
It couldn’t get better, surely??
But, no A &A assured me the Titan 808s would be another step forward.
Their dem pair arrived for listening trials just as we were about to go into the autumn tiered system of restrictions.
Yet again, I take my hat off to both A& A and Derek at Kudos, who has delivered another benchmark speaker. I have been a very happy 808 listener now since late October and never cease to be amazed at their transparency, openness, dynamic soundstage etc etc.
If you can afford to be tempted, do try them. Satisfaction guaranteed.
I know there are some here who will say that “ ah but go active with 3*500 and a snaxo etc & you will hear new insight”.
But, for me, I feel I have arrived. The music man cave beckons…
…and now for the system pic surely?! ATB Peter
Happy anniversary Charlie!
So my brother has finally decided to upgrade his 1985 (?) JVC CD player and receiver. This is what we ended up with:
CD 5, NAIT 5 with Mission speakers (LX-3 I think). I went over to help with the setup and it was fantastic to see Luc listening to CDs he’s known for years and hearing details and instruments he didn’t know were there.
The support will be upgraded at some point, and then we may discuss cable dressing.

@PeterR
Many many thanks it’s such a phantastic amp. Just you watch that @Mitch doesn’t go bananas again over the glass on top your S1
He was already warned not to EVER do that again!
Oh…I thought he was the guy who bought my cable dressing instructional video!
Which power block is this?
Its the musicworks ultra G3 at £1300.
Hi Huxleyaston, now you have realised the potential I would urge you to do it my way. I have done somewhat exhausting trials with that interface. It doesn’t really make sense, but fact is it does make a difference.
In your case with maybe speakers not fully decoupled from the floor, it could yield even more effect, as I have my speakers on Townsend Podiums. Illustration above to show the DIY burger in a bun. ATB Peter ( promise you it works and also retains the bouncy compliance, which normal carpet won’t do over time).
You cropped out your lovely light this time… shame.
That looks great, and neater than an old manky piece of carpet for those with hard floors. We have fitted carpet with 80% wool, with wool underlay beneath. The difference between having the block on the carpet and on a piece of granite was very striking.
There is clearly a marking opportunity here. You could knock the wool discs up in the garage and sell them for at least £100 a set. Bespoke handcrafted wool decoupling discs.
Kids playroom - 4 to 5 weeks wait for the carpet so some old underlay has been thrown down.
Anyway the Nait 2 and my new ND5XS2 into Allaes sounds excellent, WitchHat Phantom speaker cable too.
My original post has now been modified, so there goes my charitable suggestion, hey ho!
