System Pics 2021

Tried a very dim yellow/orange fire like glow?

I use a floor placed marshmallow lamp with a 3watt LED yellow tint bulb to set the mood.

Yeah that’s what I’d go for. Nice mellow glow. I might have to invest in a smart light for the uplighter next to the system.

My favourite is a very soft blue towards the white end of the spectrum for relaxing sessions.

Purple hazeee … :fire:

And think going to follow @Ardbeg10y to the wine section

Hi Kev,

Can you tell me how many strips you needed to have running horizontally, facing the wall behind your rack, in order to provide fairly even reflected illumination through the glass on each level?

Said it last night, and I’ll say it again … looks great against the Naim logos. :+1:

…or some retro projected light, lava style, to set the scene for my 70’s listening sessions in the office?

Hi
I put 3 behind each rack (ie not one on the bottom shelf) one plus an extra one at the top for the turntable platform, so 7 in total. More was too bright.
I used extra RGB connectors to link them across the two racks as well as mounts to hold the LED strips and the link cables (both also purchased from Amazon).

Me too. Will make a trip as well.

Hi Kev,

Many thanks for the info and also for taking the trouble to photograph your work.

I foresee a visit to Amazon in my short term future. :+1:

Glad I can help. It has been an interesting extension to my rack project that maybe can be applied to any glass shelved rack.

Is the color brighter and more even between the strips if you better dress the cables and they don’t touch each other ?

Just kidding, looks nice :+1:

Looks messy  but there is dressing of the cables- to keep the (shielded) mains leads away from or at 90’ to the signal leads and Burndy’s. The other cables are LED 5v DC, Ethernet and earth leads which I don’t think need dressing.

Small, but perfectly formed…

These three amazing little olive boxes came into my life recently.
They are the perfect partner, (and from the same era), for my much loved Epos ES14’s.

Sometimes, less is more.
In this case, small is definitely more beautiful :+1:

Lovely classic Olive shoebox system there.

I remember reading a review of those speakers. They have quite a low order crossover I believe. Meaning that there are very few components in the line and are very transparent. Nice.

Nice. I had 72, hicap & 140 with my Epos ES11s. Still got the ES11s in storage. Rest all long gone!

Nice system i heard the statement with focal utopia scala evo and sounded very emotional and strong. What line of work where you involved in before retirement if you don’t mine me asking.

Morning Hawkmoon, I was a Dentist from 1985-2019 and retired with a bad back/neck just after my 60th Birthday. Been into Hifi since my late teens :+1:t3: ATB Peter
