Hi Graeme, I am not sure how far your tongue is in your cheek, but your comments make perfect sense to me. Better than a load of techno babble or discussion of ‘upper transient response’. One mans BS is another’s poetry!

Not in my cheek at all @Magpie

Your pleasure with the compact speakers compared to the quality of your inputs and amplification is a thread in it’s own right .

I must confess that when I started looking round at bookshelf speakers, my first thought was ProAc Tablettes , but there were no local dealers and I ended up with Harbeth P3ESR , which do like lots of power

Enjoy,
Keep in mind that you are breaking the forum rules-
Shoes on the table ?!

It’s a footstool (before I’m moderated) …

Is this a copy and paste from “Pseuds Corner’s” all-time Top 10, or your own work?

Either way , it’s quality :grinning:

So?
It’s steel shoes. where is the socks?

Socks hidden by the boot. Never been a fan of the exposed sock look as a wheelchair user.

You must have been one of those pupils writing reams in Eng. Lit. exams while I would be the one wishing the syllabus had covered “Ringworld”, rather than “Peter Grimes” so that I could at least write something down…

Replaced rhe 80’s style Silver uprights with Black and added an additional source, 1987 LP12 with a few updates sounding great.

Funnily enough no. I failed Higher English first time round, always being more of a visual person. Perhaps that’s why I resorted to a more visual metaphor to articulate the differences between the players. The butterfly allusion was what came to mind first so I just wrote it down.

Any why not? It’s so much better than twittering on about bass, treble, soundstage and other hifi bollocks that we read over and over again. The musicians are in the room!!

See my latest thread @anon4489532

I managed an “E” grade in ‘O’ level Eng.Lit. (class of '74). IIRC
I do remember thinking that if the syllabus had included aforesaid “Ringworld”, or the Foundation Trilogy I might have done better.
(Niven and Asimov of course not being English authors per se).

All this talk about exams takes me back a few years
