Thanks Hugh, I am enjoying it. Mrs Pete thinks Iā€™ve got a garage band in my studio.

Many thanks, Stu - very helpful. I suppose the main difference between us is that while I find the best LPs produce the best SQ, I have a lot of music on CDs which isnā€™t available on LP, so I want to hear that in the best possible SQ. Good point about being ā€˜readyā€™ - itā€™s an issue I circle around but so far have not been able to make the psychological commitment. I wonā€™t hijack the thread any further, although it did arise from your photo of your very good looking system.

Are you happy ripping with D100?

Itā€™s a picture of my system. I donā€™t want to share my private residence with the world but at that precise moment it looked and sounded fabulous in the pitch dark. What it isnā€™t is some rambling discussion that belongs elsewhere, as has been mentioned numerous times in this thread.

Spare cartridge in place (and something of a mat on the stylus but surprisingly it wasnā€™t audible) while the SPU Royal N is off to Denmark for a rebuild.
The cuing mechanism is also playing up, a replacement is promised and Iā€™ve removed the old one in anticipation so the Aro has loaned its arm rest for the time being. (The Aro has a Tigerpaw elevator so can do without.) Cuing without a finger lift is interesting but Iā€™m getting the knack.

No problem with that as I feel exactly the same about privacy as my own system picture up thread shows the naim and not the room. Glad to know that you were enjoying your system in the dark and wanted to share, however I thought it was ironic given your recent comment, that is all.

Very nice and serious gear. All silver :+1:
Just a better rack maybe, to put a cherry on the cake ?

Thanks frenchrooster;-)
yeahā€¦the rackā€¦itā€™s a side board and my wife loves itā€¦so no chance to switch that

I see you have some isolation devices under the Rossini. It must help.

Nowt wrong with USM

USM? What does it mean ?

Sorry, USM is a Swiss furniture manufacturer, they make a range called Haller, which by the looks of it, is the rack in the picture above!

Either that, or Carterā€¦ :sunglasses:

And yes, itā€˜s an USM Haller boardā€¦the compromise to keep my Focal!

Nice to see another dCS rossini/ clock user.
Looks lovely and sounds even better i hope.
How you finding all the different maps and filers, etc?
I also had mine on isoacoustic, both units, i removed the feat, looks much better i feel.
Anyway enjoy, and agree with you the melco D100 combo works really well, as once again its what i have gone with.

Hi Dunc,
Thanks! I leave the filter/mappings untouched
