Well it was in 2013

Well the hi fi has been packed for our impending house move. Hereā€™s the ā€˜state of the systemā€™ as of today.

So where you heading Bart?

One of those days when you feel glad that you stashed all the original packaging away. Nice one.

They look fantastic. Very tempted to try one out, either or both to give the kids something to experiment with that isnā€™t an iPad, and to introduce a level of risk to Zoom meetings

They do some great kit, the build your own modular stuff and OP-Z are also favourites.
My kids like making drum patterns with their voice samples.

Wow, SVT shelf looks fantastic.

My dealer recommended it for my recently purchased P10. Alastair at Quadraspire sold me on the brass upgrade, as it looks like you have too.

My pal is coming round on Tuesday to help me install mine. Did you have the baton purely because of condition of your wall? Iā€™m going to use 4-off m10x100mm screws into plastered brick, which is what Quadraspire recommended.

What were you using before and what uplift in SQ did you get?

The SVT is very nice indeed (and my wife greatly approves!). Iā€™ve had three TT shelves on that wall - the first, Sound Organisation, was the most sturdy but did not meet her approval visually, so I went for the oak HiFi Racks ( weighs a ton, and the wall protested so it was never firm and was alarmingly flexible). The wall is in poor shape (112 years old), so yes, the batten helps tremendously - and anchor bolts and copious grab glue.

Since putting it up, I actually havenā€™t had much time to play records, but it certainly hasnā€™t affected SQ at all negatively. Everything sounds nicely clear, spacious and with a good low end. The spikes are indeed the brass upgrade - they are very nicely made, and really set the shelf off visually.

A keeper! Hope yours is too!

15 miles west ā€“ so not too far. Our next move (5 years) hopefully will be more significant ā€“ ā€œout westā€ here in the States or . . . (can we really move to the South of France? We might try!)

Unlike events of the past, this time I had ALL the transit screws, etc. I did a pretty good job of stashing things where Iā€™d find them

I didnt save the Fraim boxes; those arent getting broken down, just moved in the back of my car. And the Rega P10 is just going in the back of my car as well.

When I have moved locally, the hifi and guitars get moved by me in the same fashion. Itā€™s not that I donā€™t trust the movers itā€™s just that I donā€™t trust the movers. Even when I moved from Dallas to Charlotte, the axes came with me in my Honda CRV. A rear-end collision would have been very costly. :worried:

@DrMark- Off topic but you mentioned Charlotteā€¦How do you like the area? we are building a home in Mooresville :grinning:

Weā€™re not trusting the movers for our art, and the hi fi bits that are not in original boxes (P10, Fraim pieces). Fraim they could pack but theyā€™ll use ridiculous amounts of materials (and thus $) ā€“ easier to put in the back of my car. I trust them with the white Naim boxes and the speakers in boxes.
